1941 Ford Super Deluxe Additional Info:

I am offering for sale this 1941 Ford Super Deluxe 4dr sedan. It is an original and unrestored car in need of a good bit of work. The car is an ex-government car, and was originally in Army olive drab paint. There is a very old placard from the National Labor Relations Board so I assume it was used as such by the U.S. Government. The car has 62,000 miles on the odometer. The bad aspects of the car can be clearly seen in the pics. The floor boards and trunk pan are extensively rusted. The original fuel tank is in place with rust holes. The original interior is what should be expected after 75 years, very poor. The wiring harness is in poor original condition and will need to be replaced. The mechanical side is a bit better. The engine starts up and runs well. It put out considerable smoke at first but is clearing up nicely after a few hours of run time. The clutch works very smoothly and disengages fully and engages without chatter. The transmission shifts smoothly through all 3 forward gears and reverse, and the trans and rear make no bad sounds. I am running the car off a lawnmower gas tank under the hood, and hot wire it to start. The starter button works to activate the starter, but the ignition toggle needs to be re-wired. I have not checked the charging system, but the generator spins smoothly and quietly. The cooling system is sound and functions well. There are no leaks from either of the two water pumps and water circulates well and the engine does not overheat in 90 degree weather. The juice brake system is intact, and the parking brake works a bit when applied, but I have not been able to fully bleed the system and retain pressure. I am sure the master cylinder and wheel cylinders all need attention. The lines are all intact. I am including a 12 gallon stainless steel fuel tank to mount in the trunk, as well as the spare carb and manifold and all of the other spare parts in the pics. I also have an extra set of good running boards although the ones on the car are not too bad. The trim on the car is all present and in good condition. The door handles all work and do not sag. The windows all roll up and down, and all 4 doors open and close. The left rear side window is badly cracked and the wing windows are hazed over. My intention with this car was to refurbish the braking and electrical systems, do a complete fluids change and grease job, and use the car as it is with some Mexican blanket seat covers and floor mats. It would make a great rat rod driver, or a donor / parts car for the drive train parts and trim. I am starting bidding at $2900.00 with no reserve. The car was originally from the estate of Leroy Hartung of Illinois, and I have title in his name, and signed over to me through one interim dealer. The car is available for pick - up in Edgewater Fl, 20 miles south of Daytona Beach and the upcoming Turkey Rod Run. The car is of course sold as-is and for cash after a small pay pal deposit. Also I forgot to mention, it has headers and dual exhaust with glasspacks. It has a nice sound going down the road.

I have a trailer and an F250 and may be able to help with shipping within a few hundred miles for a reasonable fee.

Happy Bidding and good luck!
