1990 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat Additional Info:

THIS PRISTINE TRUCK HAS BEENIN OURFAMILYSINCE IT WAS NEW. IT HAS A DOCUMENTED
51,180 ORIGINAL MILES, IT WASNEVER DRIVEN WINTERS ANDALWAYS GARAGED. FORD LIFETIME RUSTPROOFING, RUNNING BOARDS, BEDLINER, FIBERGLASS CAP, CURB FINDER RUNNING LIGHTS, STONE GUARDS, BUG DEFLECTER WEREINSTALLED AT TIME OF PURCHASE. THE TRUCK BED UNDER THE LINERWAS NEVER USED, SO IT IS INORIGINAL, FACTORYCONDITION.
THIS XLT LARIAT WAS FORD'S BEST TRUCK WHEN MY SISTER PURCHASED IT ON DEC 30, 1990. AFTER SHE DIED A FEW YEARS LATER, THE TRUCK WAS COVERED AND STORED IN A TOTALLY DRY BUILDING. IT WAS UNCOVERED AND DRIVEN OCASSIONALLY, AND, DESPITE ONLY BEING DRIVEN A FEW MILES, THE OIL WAS CHANGED OFTEN. I AQUIRED IT A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN IT HAD A LITTLE OVER 41,000 MILES ON IT. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE HAD THE AUTO OD TRANSMISSION FLUID FLUSHED AND CHANGED, OIL CHANGED EVERY 3,000 MILES (SOMETIMES BEFORE 3,000) IT HAS BEEN WAXED 3 TIMES A YEAR ANDNEVER LEAVES THE GARAGE IN THE WINTER. THE A/C EVAPORATOR IS NEW AND THE AIR IS ICE COLD, THE HEATER WILL DRIVE YOU OUT.IREPLACED THE BATTERY, SOLONOID AND STARTER, IT STARTSJUST LIKE WHEN IT WAS NEW.THIS SUMMER I TOOK IT TO A CERTIFIED ASE GARAGE ANDHAD THE FOLLOWING WORK PERFORMED. NEW PREMIUM OE BRAKEPADS,NEW BRAKES,NEW BRAKE ROTOR AND HUB ASSEMBLIES, NEW FRONT WHEEL SEALS,BEARINGS CLEANED AND REPACKED, AND NEW COPPER CORE OE SPARK PLUGS, AT A COST OF A LITTLEOVER $500. THE MECHANICS COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW CLEAN THE FRAME AND UNDERCARRIAGE COMPONENTS WERE.
THE POWER WINDOWS, POWER LOCKS, TILT STEERING, CRUISE CONTROL, AM/FM RADIO, LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, HEATER AND A/C WORK GREAT. IT HAS TWO 18 GAL. TANKS, BUTFORD HAD A RECALLFOR ADEFECTIVE PUMP ON THE REAR TANK ANDMY SISTER NEVER MADE THE RECALL, SO IT DOESN'T WORK.BUT THAT HAS NOT BEEN A PROBLEM FOR ME, BECAUSE MOST OF MY DRIVING IS TO THE GOLF COURSE, AND 18 GALLONS LAST ME FOR WEEKS. (Parts Geek sells the rear tank pump, reservoir, seal and strainerfor $47.60.) WE HAVE NEVER HAD TO ADD OIL BETWEEN CHANGES, BUT THERE IS A DRIP COMING FROM THE VALVE COVER GASKET, SO THEY PROBABLY SHOULD BE CHANGED AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE. THE OWNERS MANUAL IS ALSO STILL IN THE TRUCK.
THE TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES AS SMOOTH AS SILK, AND IS A PLEASURE TO DRIVE. YOU HAVE TO REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO EVEN FEEL THE TRANNY SHIFT. OFTENTIMES, PEOPLE COME UP AND COMMENT HOW BEAUTIFUL IT LOOKS, AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT YEAR IT IS. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A BETTER 26 YEAR OLD TRUCK, YOU WILL BE SEARCHING FOR A LONG TIME BEFORE YOU FIND ONE ANY NICER THAN THIS ONE. THE PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. YES, I HATE TO SELL IT, BUT I'M GETTING OLD AND THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO SELL IT BEFORE I DIE! WHO KNOWS, TAKE GOOD CARE OF THIS TRUCK LIKE WE HAVE AND YOU JUST MIGHT GET ANOTHER 26 YEARS OF SERVICE FROM IT.
THE RESERVE IS MORE THAN FAIR, THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK.
THERE IS A VERY SMALL DENT ON THE TAILGATE TRIM WHICH IS SHOWN IN THE PHOTO ZOOMED IN. THERE IS A SCRATCH ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAP ALSO SHOWN IN A CLOSE UP PHOTO. NOTE - The scratch happened with the cap off of the truck for cleaning. It was not on the truck and there is no scratch on the truck. The rest of the truck is immaculate, inside and out. Aside from a little leftover wax, the pictures should show this. This was hand waxed not using cheap spray-on wax. A well loved and well taken care of truck! You can even see from the pictures that even the bed liner has a carpet protecting it. That shows the level of care this truck has had its entire garage-queen existence.
