1950 Ford F-100 Additional Info:
We bought this cool truck from an old hippie from New Mexico. He built it himself over about 20+ years. The engine is out of a 1985 Mercedes 300D. It has approximately 150k miles on it. The 4 speed manual transmission is from a Mercedes 240D.
The truck was his daily driver for years and years. The waste vegetable oil system is home made as well and works perfectly. It has 2 tanks. One is hidden under the bed.(see photo) This is used as the vegetable oil talk and is pre-heated by the exhaust system. Hidden up under the driver side front fender is the 2 gallon diesel tank used to start the truck and run until warm. Don't want to deal with the veggie oil? Just use the rear tank for diesel.
The truck was home built with the intention of function and is a driver quality truck. When we bought it we did a quick spray in the current yellow and bought the new wheels and tires. We then did the graphics and used as a promotional rig for our farm to table restaurant.
The truck runs straight and true and is completely reliable and trustworthy. People love it!!It even is fitted with air conditioning! Holds 65-70 MPH on the highway and gets like 23-25 miles per gallon! No Reserve
Truck is located in Southern Vermont. (still has our Colorado Vintage Plates)
