1948 Ford F-6 COE Cabover F-6 Additional Info:
1948 Ford COE Cabover street rod car hauler. This auction is for the truck only, and NOT for the car on the bed of the truck!!!! This truck is built on a Dodge 1 ton truck frame and chassis with the mighty 5.9L Cummins diesel engine with a built for towing 46RH automatic transmission . It is turbocharged and Intercooled, and gets 12.5 mpg while loaded, and has plenty of power. It has dual 5" exhaust with an exhaust brake to assist in stopping when loaded. The engine and transmission is behind the sleeper underneath the bed floor, meaning much less noise in the cab, no heat from the engine in the cab to compete with the air conditioning effectiveness, and so much more leg room without the engine cover taking up most of your floor space. It has a handmade custom built sleeper with custom steps and lower aprons that blend the fenders, cab, and sleeper smoothly together, and bed that I built especially for this truck. It has 4 wheel disc brakes, tilt steering column, air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, power windows, power seat, fold down tv in the sleeper, cd player, subwoofer, 19.5" alcoa alloy wheels, on board air compressor, rear airbags. There is even a 20 gallon fresh water tank with 12 volt water pump/hose to allow you to wash and clean up the truck once you arrive at the show. This truck was built taking no short cuts. It was built by me, for me, using experience acquired through 35 years in the auto body business. I would trust this truck to go anywhere. It has lots of storage space with a storage compartment on each side of the sleeper, and 2 large storage compartments on each side of the bed, as well as one in the rear floor of the bed. There is also a tunnel going from side to side in the bed storage compartments for a canopy and 4 chairs. I built it with no intention of selling it 10 years ago. It has been driven 17,000 miles since it was built with no issues with reliabilty. Everything works. I am only selling as I have other interests and I just haven't used it much lately. I can take and send more photos of any other area of the truck if you want.
