1986 Ford F-350 XL Additional Info:
Rescued this truck a couple of months back in North Florida. It had been parked and left for 15 years. 114K miles put on by theoriginal owner. Still has all of its paperwork in the glove box along with 3500.00 inreceiptsthat I put into to bring her back to life.Wild life had set up house under the hood and lived there comfortably for many years. Much of the wiring, hoses and belts had become snack food. All this was repaired or replaced as needed. Both fuel tanks were nearly full a mixture of very old gas and water. The rear tank was cleaned the side tank replaced along with both pumps and sending units. Some new steel line and the carb were replaced as well. The complete EGR and fuel gas recovery has been removed.
The complete brake system from the mastercylinder back was replace inc booster, hoses, calipers, wheel cylinders, shoes and pads. 6 brand new tires. It hadaftermarketchrome wheels which were very rusted. These got sand blasted and painted low gloss black. Exhaustmanifoldgaskets leaked and were replaced. Part of this required the L head to be pulled to remove broken bolts. All new bolts were installed on the head, manifold and intake upon reassembly. Engine now starts and runs very well. recent alignment and a new tie rod end made it drive nice as a 30 yr old 1 ton truck can. Theinterior is nice. No rips or tears. The critters didnt get inside. There is a hole on the top of the dash pad where the center speaker would go. A very big spider was living in there. He's been forcefully evicted. Radio and on speaker still work. The blowe, blower wheel and resistor have been replaced so theventilationsystem works. all dampers open and close correctly. The A/C compressor works and the system hold pressure but there is a restriction after the condenser that keeps it from operating correctly. It can be repaired without much effort. At this time I dont plan of doing it. If I was to keep the truck I'd fix it.
All this old girl needs is a paint job and a new owner. As it sits now I'd be confident in driving it anywhere. Its old and with any old truck there will be stuff that will needreplacementalong the way.Its for sale as is and where is. I can help with delivery. for 1.00 a loaded mile. Id have to put my F250 on the trailer and pull it with the 350 cause it wont fit on my trailer.Think its about 30' long!
