1959 Ford Country Squire Additional Info:
You are bidding on a 1959 Ford Country Squire station wagon. VIN # H9FY169265. Data plate shows the following; Body 71G (country squire 9 pass), Color A (black), Trim 46 (red and white), Date 23M (Dec. 23 1958), Trans 3 (fordomatic 2 speed), Axle 5 (2.91:1). This is a car I bought to restore for myself a couple of years ago but have changed my mind. The car came out of TN and still has the TN 1959 plate on it. The original engine was the 352 4V but has been changed out to a 1977 Ford 351 with 1977 Ford 2 speed transmission. Engine and transmission seem to work fine. It also has a new 2V carburetor on it along with the '77 electronic ignition. I was going to change the engine out for an original 352. This car could be a driver with a little work or it would be a candidate for a complete restoration. It does have some of the typical rust for these wagons; some in the spare tire area, rocker panels have had a "cover" placed over them at one time, the area over the rear wheels are showing signs of rust, as are the inner rear quarters, floors show minimal rust. I will list some of the bad things about this car;Wrong engine and transmissionMisc. rustwindshield cracked (passenger side)front seat is worn (with cover)No power steeringNo power brakesDoor panels are out of a 1959 Edsel Rangermissing windshield wipers and armsmissing inside sun visorssome of the pot metal trim is pittedtires are in poor conditionpaint is in poor condition, misc. scratches and dings, car has been repainted at least oncewoodgraining is in poor conditionchrome is in poor conditionSome of the 3rd seat hardware is missing, seat cushions for 3rd seat are not correct.no radio antennaholes in hood from missing hood ornamentradio and clock do not worketc. etcNow some of the good things about the car;Rare Country Squire 9 passenger wagonAll new exhaustNew brakes including master cylinderNew window channels and anti-rattle stripsRebuilt rear end, new seals, etc.New rear shocksGas tanked cleaned and sealed.New carburetornew fuel pumpNew batteryetc.I have not really ever driven this car, only around the block a few times. I have no idea how it handles on the road. It will need new tires before it is driven along with other things to make it a driver. the pictures really tell the story. Let me know if you have any other questions. Being sold as is where is. I will need a deposit within 24 hours after auction ends, the balance within 7 days. I would like the car removed within 2 weeks after auction ends.
