1941 Ford Tudor Sedan - Trimmed as a Super Deluxe
In 1953, I was a 17-year old teenager and my very first car was a 1941 Ford. As the saying goes, you never forget your first and for me, the saying held true. The '41 Ford has always held a special place in my heart.
Of course time passed as did that particular car, but not the memory. I always told myself that some day, I would like to find another...one that I could have as a weekend driver to re-live those old memories.
Fast forward to 2005 and while searching here on eBay, I came across a listing for this 1941 Ford. It was being sold as a barn find in Montana. As the successful bidder, I became the owner of a '41 Ford for the second time.
I had the car shipped to me here in Toronto, Canada and my 2nd journey began.
I knew what I wanted to do with the car...Ihad no intention of restoringit as a'trailer queen', rather, I wanted something that I could drive when I wanted and something that I could customize to my own liking. My desire was to add 'Super Deluxe' trim pieces and more. The pictures show the result of my ideas and efforts.
Ten-years on, I am now widowed and have moved to a place whichmakes it very difficult to enjoy the car. It is sad to know that it is just sitting in storage and despite how difficult this decision has been, it is time to see it go to a new owner who can enjoy it as much as I did.
Some of the key details:
- numbers matching engine and transmission (original to the car)
- the glass is all new
- the wide whitewall tires were new and have less than 500 miles on them
- the original generator was replaced with a 6-volt alternator and the car is 6-volt positive ground
As indicated, I have added all of the 'Super Deluxe' trim pieces and bumpers.
The car runs and drives great and has been a real 'head-turner'. It always attracted attention at every car show and rally that I took her to (note: there is no radio in the car, just a cluster and dials).
As you can expect, the car is sold 'as/is' and 'where is' and no warranties are expressed or implied.
I will work with any perspective buyer but it is your responsibility to transport the vehicle from it's current location in Port Perry, Ontario (about 60 miles northeast of Toronto, Canada) to your destination of choice.
The successful purchaser will be expected to provide a $500.00 non-refundable deposit (via PayPal) within 48-hours of the close of this auction.
The car is also being advertised locally and as such, I reserve the right to end the auction early, in the event of a sale.
