This machine was built to be pure intimidation on wheels. Period. Its upgrades only exist to help it go faster, handle better, and sound louder. So this fuel-injected 1932 Ford Hi-boy is all about backing up its looks everywhere from the cruise-ins to the streets.Matte black is the kind of color that looks like it's out to consume all the light around it, and so it works perfectly for this roadster. With the frame, braces, and side exhaust tips also dark as midnight, this is a very aggressive package. But to really make the scene, there always has to be some touches of brightwork. So on this one it really stands out on the grille, windshield mounts, and of course, those great looking five-spoke alloy wheels. They are staggered 17/20 inches front/rear to instantly give an aggressive forward leaning stance that makes this hot rod look like it always has a furrowed brow. We bet you're also catching those subtle hints of red, but we'll talk more on that in a moment. The smooth and clean design of the exterior continues on the inside. The light gray vinyl looks great on the bench seat, and it wraps around the door panels and kick plates for a great fully enveloping appearance. You get a cool black and chrome sports steering wheel mounted on a bright tilt column. Beyond that is an ultra-smooth dashboard that keeps the cool minimalist attitude. The trick on this one is that the Dolphin gauges provide all the info you need in a compact space. And from the moment you turn the key, you know you want to be in tune with what's under the hood. This might be a classic Ford body, but it has modern Chevy power under the hood. That's a fuel-injected 5.3-liter Vortec V8 with added performance pieces like aluminum heads, short ram air intake, LS intake manifold, and shorty headers. All the pieces that present nicely are also part of added function, too. For example, those chrome pipes are attached to an aluminum radiator w/electric fan, so your enhanced Hi-boy can stay cool while running hard. Plus, this one was built with speed in mind. Lightweight components such as the fiberglass body and aluminum suspension supports means you really get the most out of this modern V8. You even get the convenience of a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission that has the right gearing for both performance and just overdrive cruising. But the components you probably are really enjoying are the ones in red. That cherry bomb-style exhaust gives the side pipes a ferocious growl, and the red calipers on the four-wheel disc brakes means you can outmaneuver just about any other hot rod on the road. So yes, this mean machine is actually a very thoughtful build. Fully finished in all the right ways that makes people sit up and take notice, this is a fantastic Deuce roadster you can own today.
