1964 Ford Mustang Coupe Additional Info:
My father and I purchased this car April 22,1964 for $2550 from Friehofer Motors in Rock Port, MO, as my high school graduation present. It is Rangoon Red with red vinyl bucket seat interior and has the 260 V8 engine and 3 speed transmission. The only option was the white sidewall 13" tires. We had to get special permission from Ford in order for me to take the car to my senior prom. A promise was made that the car would stay in our small farming town, and would not be seen in Omaha, St Joseph, or Kansas City. The car has always been stored inside our concrete floored Quonset hut, and never sat outside at night. It was stored their when I went to the army for 2 years. The damage on the driver rear quarter was caused when an oil storage tank in the Quonset hut fell, and hit the car. The right front fender damage came from being pulled out of a rut in an old farm road. The car runs, drives and shifts, but will need brake work to be road worthy again. The engine doesn't smoke or have blow by. The local Ford dealer did a valve job somewhere around 50000 miles. Could use a tune up, carb rebuild, exhaust donuts, and fuel tank and lines cleaned. The frame rails, trunk floor, floor pans, and under hood, are in very good condition. The driver toe board has some rust that will need a patch, as well as the lower front corner of the driver door. We buffed a spot on the fender and the paint shined back up great. The original spare tire and all jack equipment is in the trunk. Documentation includes a picture of me in my graduation clothes, the original cancelled check used to pay for the car, owners manual, owners card, and the clear Missouri title that was transferred to my wife and I 6/26/1969, from mom and dad. The dash pad and all glass is original and good.the seats can be repaired, and the carpet dyed, to keep original
