We all know Hot Rods are as American as baseball and apple pie. However, it's not everyday you come across an original, real deal hot rod that was built in the 1960's.
This traditional 1931 Ford Model A Five Window Coupe is just that car. It's obviously had it's fair share of makeovers since that era, but mostly for reliability and cosmetic reasons.
This sweet little coupe has the perfect chop of 4 1/2 inches and finished off in Washington Blue paint (an original 1931 color). The car was painted by well known painter, but now retired, Stan Betz. It rides on a rare Okie Adams dropped and filled axle on a leaf spring. The body is of course all steel with a boxed and "Z'd" frame. It's wearing a set of original GUIDE headlamps and the electrical has been converted over to 12 volt. It's powered by a 1964 Chevy 283 engine with triple 97 Stromberg's with progressive linkage. It's backed by a 350 Turbo Transmission and Chevy rear differential with a transverse leaf spring. The black pleated interior was stitched by none other than LeBaron Bonney and the steering column is '40 Ford.
It's a fine example of a well built coupe and because of that, the car has always received the maintenance and care it deserves.
The following list is an example of the most recent repairs/upgrades over the last three months:
New water pump
Fuel pump
Fuel lines
New brakes
Engine and trans pan gaskets
Radial tires and tubes
This truly is one of those cars that is turn key and you won't spend the first month troubleshooting some strange problem. Believe me.... I always seem to be on the receiving end of that problem. As for style, well..... pictures sort of say it all. It was built to be a traditional Hot Rod and look period correct.
The car is being stored in Laguna Hills, CA and all inspections are welcome. California title is in hand. The buyer is responsible for transportation after a final payment has been made.
Do not hesitate to message me with questions. Thank you!
