1948 Ford Funk Conversion 8N Ford Tractor. Funk Aircraft provided over 5000 conversions kits to Ford dealers in the 1940's and early 50's. These kits supplied everything to the Ford Dealer to mate a new Ford dealer supplied industrial 6 Cylinder Flathead engine to the 8N Tractor for more power than the standard 4 cylinder. The tractor is not only one of these conversions, ut it is a very rare Funk supplied oil pan/structural member for the conversion in lieu of the cheaper I beam support for the new engine. Of the approximately 5000 kits only 600 of these rare oil pan conversions were supplied and only believed to be less than 20 left in the world in this condition. The kits were very complete including, adiator, uel tank, dapters for engine/trans, il pan (in this case), elts, oses, nd all items necessary to stretch the chassis and hood to allow the longer Flathead to work. Ford Dealers used a complete crate industrial engine from carburetor to exhaust.
This 8N has gone through a no expense spared nut and bolt restoration and believed to be one of best examples left in the world.
