The Ford Mustang was introduced on April 17, 964. Its sales success was immediate…22,000 orders were placed on the first day and the car went on to sell 417,000 cars in the first year. Coupe and convertible body styles were joined by a fastback several months later and the car could be had with a variety of engines, rom mild to wild. A broad range of color choices and options meant that everyone from Grandma to high school students could find a Mustang built to their specification!
We are very excited to offer this 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible! The car is finished in Rangoon Red with Black Pony interior. This car is fitted with its original D-Code 289ci-4V V8 making 210 horsepower! Furthermore, he car is fitted with its original C4 Dual-Range Automatic transmission. Options on the car include air conditioning, ower top, unctional AM Radio, ucket seats, T dress-up bits (4-inch fog lamps, T badging, ood accent molding, as cap and triple stripe on lower body), eatbelts front and rear, ourtesy lights, oor edge guards, ender applique trim, ocker panel trim, added visors, isibility group (two-speed wipers, ay/night rear-view mirror, emote side-view mirror) and styled steel wheels wrapped in 195/70R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.
The car was restored in Ohio shortly before making its way to Southern California to be part of the prestigious Bob Pond collection in 2001. It has been lovingly owned and driven since then and has been regularly serviced with the rest of his 100+ car collection. The paint and chrome show very little age but you’d never guess that the restoration is more than 10 years old. All mechanicals, ir conditioning, ights, adio, auges, uttons and switches work. The radiator was fully resealed in July of 2004 and the car still wears all of its original Carlite side glass and windshield. The fender stamp is clearly visible and body panel gaps are excellent. More importantly, t retains the generator charging system, riginal large dual horns, nd date code correct equipment and part numbers. The car drives as good as the classic red on black color scheme looks, ith plenty of power and style! The car comes fully serviced and ready to enjoy! Act quickly because we don’t expect this one to be here long! Thanks for looking and please don’t hesitate to ask any additional questions!
