Fiat 600D Multipla Taxi MPV Classic / LHD / 1965 / 41K Miles / 3 Owners / Restored & Mint - Unique Investment Opportunity @ $38,750
We are truly privileged to offer to the market this fully restored & highly desirable Fiat 600D Multipla Tipo 100 D108. It’s a matching numbers 1965 (14th May) model being a genuine LHD Italian example & in the most sort after 6 seater Taxi configuration.
It retains its original matching 767cc engine which is freshly rebuilt & has a mileage of only 41,212 miles since new but less than 500 miles since the full & compressive restoration. Along with only 3 Italian owners & its original Italian registration number RC 053120, this is a very desirable example indeed.
This stunning & unrepeatable vehicle underwent a full bare shell restoration in 2014/15 by a Fiat Club Italia aficionado, whom on completion of this stunning period piece has only used it for local weddings! When we valeted the car we hoovered up a lot of confetti, but we left some in the ashtray for prosperity. (We also have images of it with the wedding attire attached in the history file).
The owner Giuseppie now 69 years old, whom resides in the beautiful South of Italy in Reggio Di Calabria (RC) where the vehicle has also resided since new. It was not a chore driving down from our base in Milan to the beautiful region where we stayed for a couple of nights to explore the region in the Multipla.
Giuseppie entrusted this beautiful example to a local marquee specialist whom stripped the vehicle back to the bare metal shell, let in new metal as required & rebuilt the vehicle complete, including an engine rebuild, suspension & running gear, electrical, mechanical, 5 New tyres, period original interior including door cards etc & full repaint in the correct & original Rome Taxi colours. In fact they even painted the wheel arches & underside in the body colour & detailed the undercarriage to an impressive show standard.
It was successfully completed in early 2015 to the stunning & well detailed condition you see today. In fact this is a rare Italian restoration that is actually finished to a high UK standard & still wears its factory original badges & trim! Giuseppe informed us that the Multipla has been extremely popular since restoration as a wedding car.It even has an original TAXI sign, so you can pick up some paying clients on route!
It is a well restored & detailed example that must surely be one of the most unique in the world. I have been dying to find an example like this since I went to the Goodwood Revival last summer & we were taken around the circuit in a Multipla taxi, they use them normally at the Revival to transport VIPs around!
I fell in love there & then & have been literally hunting the globe to find one since.
It starts on the button & drives without fault, infact it is a real hoot to drive & seems much quicker than the engine size would lead you to believe. Being the later 1965 model the engine size is 767cc rather than the earlier 633cc example which is underpowered especially if you are carrying 6 or more people!
On arrival to our shores, we have been meticulous in our further preparation prior to offering this exception example to the market by undertaking the following works:
Had the front bumper rechromed along with the front cow horns & also the rear bumper. Had the dynamo sent back to Italy to be fully rebuilt, as we conducted our first pre MOT check on the electrics we saw the dynamo wasn’t charging the battery fully as required. Fitted new plugs, air filter, oil O ring, fresh oil, fuel filter, coil, & fresh antifreeze & flush. Fitted a correct engine lid latch, Applied a red coachline. Chrome wing mirror, Jack & brace, chrome wiper blades & washer pump & pipe set. Fitted the correct D engine decal set, adjusted the steering geometry, supplied a fresh MOT & conducted a multipoint check, replaced the fuel with £35 of new super unleaded, cleaned & tuned the carb, Fitted various trim items, Fiat Key ring, ACI sticker & a detailed valet inside & out.
We also conducted a 1 hour road test & then we treated all the external paint work to a professional full 3M machine polish.
The vehicle comes complete with the original Italian log book & owner’s manual, although this is in Italian the images are helpful! UK MOT & Invoices from Ricambio International. We also have copious photos of the vehicle in Reggio Di Calabria & in Wedding attire which all form part of the impressive history file that accompanies the vehicle.
What you see with this unique example is what you get. You could actually use this example for every day use with the family, transportation to the Revival, or as a contender at classic car shows & be proud of it in any circumstance.
Find another with this mileage, low ownership & as structurally sound, it’s only being offered for sale for the fourth time in its life to date!

Period correct original roof rack (Find another – worth $1000 alone) & luggage included!
Original Rome Taxi colour scheme of Fiat nero over verde scuro paintwork & matching wheels, with a new period correct tan piped cream interior & tailored matching floor mats.
The Fiat Multipla was introduced in the spring of 1956 and was based on the Fiat 600’s drive train being designed by Dante Giacosa, a genius at designing the compact vehicle. The 600 Multipla was the people carrier version & could carry up to 8 people so were popular with Italian Taxi drivers. The Multipla changed very little between 1956 and 1966 when production ended. In 1960 the engine size increased from 633cc to 767cc upping the bhp from 21.5 to 29, this model became the 600D as the example offered for sale here. The gearbox was a 4 speed with synchromesh on all gears except first. Top speed became 65mph and returned an average of around 38 mpg. Production numbers were 76871 for the 600 and 83389 for the 600D. They were the first ever MPV’s that we all know & take for granted today!
Please also note: The Italian number plate shown is for illustrative purposes only & does not come with the vehicle – The original Italian number plate read ‘RC053120’. Now returned to ACI for the Italianderegistration process.
