1976 Fiat AR59 Additional Info:
This 1976 Fiat Campagnola AR59 (chassis 010012) was originally a military truck and has the original Italian military plates to go with it. Prominence is secure through the supplied ASI or Automoto Club Storico Italiano paperwork. It was imported to the USA in 2014 by an Italian auto dealer who specializes in Fiats, Lancias and Alfas. It is currently titled & registered in TN. It has an older restoration (probably 10 yrs ago). Has fresh upholstery in the front and rear bench seats. Comes with Firestone road tires and an extra set of Michelin off road tires that have full tread. Starter was recently rebuilt and it has newer battery. Runs and drives good and shifts well between the gears. Starts up right away, even in the cold. Rust is not an issue as the truck is very solid, as seen in pictures, including the frame and undercarriage, fender wells rockers and all the rest. The doors are two-piece rear-hinged items with removable fixed window upper portions. Doors will stay open when driving if desired. The soft top is in good condition, no holes or leaks. With it removed, windows stored in the garage and windshield folded down, the driving experience would be very similar to an old Willys Jeep, but much smoother and powerful. The cabin and rear cargo / troop bench area presents similarly to the exterior, with slightly thick, not overly clean paint and good, serviceable but sparse upholstery. There is an oil pressure gauge, speedometer, and fuel level indicator, a couple warning lights and a handful of levers and T-handles for shuffling power to each of the four wheels. The exposed defrost vents, single outlet heater / fan unit, exposed windshield wiper motors and integrated on/off switch and rubber floor mats continue the minimal, function-first vibe. Power comes from a 1.9 liter, overhead valve gas four-cylinder good for about 60 HP. Diesel engines were also offered at the time, but the gas version is more preferred. The trucks four speed manual works in conjunction with a high / low range transfer case. It runs and drives very well with functional lights and wipers. One bulb is out in a front headlight that needs to be replaced, but all turn signals and brake / running lights work as they should. Comes with original owners manual, but you better know Italian to read it! Depending on where you live, I may be able to assist with finding transport to pick up.
As with all my vehicle sales, no warranty is implied and are sold "As Is," "Where Is." I always attempt to represent all vehicles as best as I can, but I am aware that some people expect their old car to be perfect. For peace of mind, I am fine for you to arrange the vehicle to be inspected prior to end of auction for serious inquires. Please only commit to purchase if you have the funds. Thanks for looking!
