1967 Fiat Dino Additional Info:
Well, here you have a rare and desirable 1967 Fiat Dino. I was in the process of restoring it when disaster struck. I had redone the body and the car had a 'show room' finish paint job that was perfect. For the restoration I had started from the dash and back through the interior. So as I restored pieces they were wrapped and put into storage under a workbench I had against an overhead door behind the car. The dash was done and was perfect, all the gauges, heater box and controls, windshield and rear glass, all exterior stainless trim pieces.....................until somebody lit something on fire on the outside of the overhead door. Because I was storing these items down low they got it the worst and were destroyed. Some of the stainless pieces maybe able to be saved. As far as the rest of the car it's pretty much all there, but what you see in the pictures is what you get. Bags and bags and bags of labelled little pieces of chrome, screws, fittings, hoses etc. Custom made stainless exhaust with custom headers. Seats (need recovering), rubber weatherstripping, electrical harnesses (labelled), 2 sets of tailights (in varying degree of shape), 2 sets of sill plates etc. Brand new headliner and side panels. The original and correct 5spd transmission and 2.0L V6 engine. The engine had been disassembled by a professional shop (where it currently resides) for rebuild. Everything was checked over and measured and it was determined that the engine is in extremely good shape and everything can stay standard on the rebuild. A parts list was being assembled for the rebuild process when this disaster happened. The shop where it is is Prairie Autohaus, the fellow who was going to build it was Yogi and his number is 306-652-0888. He is an expert on these engines and a very knowledgeable, I also informed him on what was going on with the car and is prepared to get calls about the engine. The car body is a 100% rust free example that had a show quality paint on it. The undercarriage was fully detailed and ready to go, and rust free. For the most part the paint came out pretty good but didn't escape entirely. Something fell onto the hood on the right side (as pictured) and the rear trunk lid would need to be repainted, there is some slight blistering of the paint because the back of the car was towards where the fire happened. Also with the car comes five (5) completely restored in mint shape Chromodora rims and five brand new tires on them that have never been on the road other then pushing the car around. This is a no reserve auction and I am starting it out at what just the 5 rims alone are worth. Buy the car for parts, buy it to finish it because you have the parts or a rusted out clapped out Dino but I am not interested in parting out the car piece by piece. I just want to forget about this whole disaster and move on, so anyone who knows these cars and knows how expensive and hard to get parts, is going to get a treasure trove here. Car was last titled in the USA in Utah for which i still have. It was never re titled in Canada and carries no insurance claim against it. The mileage on the car is unknown (gauge is melted) so it is being sold a TMU. The car is a roller, that's all so arrangements will have to be made for transport. All the parts I have put into plastic totes (the ones that can fit anyways) for transport in the vehicle. The larger/longer parts will have to be placed in the vehicle. The engine/transmission should be strapped to a pallet and transported along with the car. So special arrangements will have to be made with the transport company for this, cause this is not your normal transport. I can recommend Independent Auto Hauling out of Manitoba, Peter Booy is the fellow name and his number is 780-839-8251 from the postal code S7K 5L6. So again just so everything is clear, here are the parts I know that were destroyed in the fire, dash and all the gauges, heater control and box, both front and back windscreens (although all the door glass and side glass is there and fine), all exterior trims pieces are there but have hazing on them to different degrees (one may be able to polish some of them out). Carpets are all there and look fine but would need to be replaced cause they do smell smoky along with anything else that has fabric that can absorb smoke. The headliner and side panels I had purchased brand new and not in with the fire. Please do your research and know that this package alone is worth 1000's just in parts, however it is used and sold as is with no warranty. I will assist in any way I can with shipping and loading. Any questions or viewing just ask but once this auction is over and the starting price is met it is considered sold, a $500 deposit is expected at close of auction. Balance to be paid in 7 days. Thanks for looking and good luck with the auction.
