This is a 1978 Fiat X1/9 Bertone Targa
Yellow –Body in good condition, Engine runs good, paint in ok condition. Interior good. Always Starts and Runs.
Built date: 11/1977 Veh. ID / Reg. # 0074102
Odometer reading of 68,039k miles which appears to be true. It is a 4 cylinder Engine 1300cc with a 4 speed transmission & carbureted. I purchased this vehicle from an owner that had bought it for a fun weekend car, but he went off to Grad school and needed the cash to pay for that lump of pending $$ doom to his bank account. I bought it to try with the idea of doing an EV transplant a friend of mine had told me about in the spring, but before I started to think of a whisper quite car with go-cart feel, I proceeded to fall off a ladder after the new year and exploded my shoulder socket in many places, Dr. bills came knocking, so sadly I find I have some medical bills to pay off and so I must sell to someone that wants some fun and a little tinkering ride to play with.
It was registered with Maine DMV and in Massachusetts they use the prior registration as the title. I did not register it in MASS., due to my accident so it did not get a registration with me as owner so you will get to be the next registration.
Runs and drives well, seems a little home blended painting occurred in some small area, but it’s not bad, just not perfect, but I was planning just to do a wrap of 3M DI-NOC so was going give it a night Blue or Red color but did not buy they either. If you so choose, a little minor bodywork and some TLC would help first if you did the wrap idea. A few underside corrosion spots around hood the car, a little work but seems like it’s not a thru hole anywhere. This car has been garaged since I bought it so it has not been outside in 2 winters, however I start the car every few weeks to keep the car up and in running condition. One of the prior owners seems to have added some extra sealant around the trim as you can see in the photos, not sure why. One of the owner also made some hood vents using a mesh
The interior is in decent condition, a split on the dashboard-seems glued, but interior looks ok, just could use a good cleaning wipe and some Armor-All for a high gloss finish and a vacuum. Pioneer Stereo –CD player with removable face-plate, 2 speakers in the doors with ok sound. Sport style Drivers and Passenger seats were installed. This car is running, driving condition to get out there and take the roof off. Tire tread is low so recommend to look for some rubber once you register it. I have a Cam cover for it. This is a running, driving vehicle in pretty good shape, seems all in original condition.
I have more pictures but have reached the E-bay limit. A few videos of the car runnin, stereo sound and the pop-up lights working- msg me with your email address if you want to see those or if you want any other images take that is can get too.
Feel free to msg. me to arrange an inspection or to ask any questions. I'll do my best to answer what I know.
