FCA International Meet—Platinum 2014Provenance:This exceptional example of the "Flying Mirror" Ferrari Testarossa was sold new to the CEO of a major Pennsylvania Corporation in 1986 by Algar Ferrari, The Northeast's oldest Ferrari Authorized dealership. The first owner was a man of considerable means, who spared no expense in maintaining his collection. As the service records demonstrate, each year the owner would have this Testarossa trailered to Algar Ferrari, with the instruction to service the car and address any needs it may have. For the next 26 years the car was maintained to the highest possible standards. In 2011, the second owner learned of this almost mythical car from Algar Ferrari, and contacted the broker. A pre-purchase inspection revealed that, aside from needing its service, the car had no significant needs and demonstrated excellent compression and leak down numbers (pre-purchase inspection report provided with service documents). Upon purchase the second owner spared no expense in having the car gone over with a fine tooth comb. In addition, he had the entire engine and transmission resealed and any potential areas of service addressed. During this service, it was also requested that Algar Ferrari have the vehicle Classiche Certified. The car passed certification without issue. The total bill before discounts for this service was over $16K. He then had the vehicle's entire front end wrapped in a clear bra to preserve the integrity of the paint. For the next few years of ownership, he maintained this vehicle to aeronautical standards. At the beginning of every driving season, he drove the vehicle to Algar Ferrari with the instruction to tend to anything they could find. He also stopped in mid year to have the vehicle serviced and again at the conclusion of the driving season. In July of 2013, the timing belts were again replaced. After McLaren thoroughly inspected the vehicle, our technicians determined that the G-Force Sport Comp-2 tires had 80% health remaining in both the front and rear.
