This rare 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Monospecchio is a desirable early production example (1984-86) which features a single mirror mounted high on the driver’s side A-pillar. As a result, the car was nicknamed the “flying mirror” and is widely considered to be the most attractive and collectable of all the standard Testarossas.
This particular car is finished in a classic “Rosso Corsa” paint. The interior features wonderful two-tone leather upholstery in tan/brown. The seats are in excellent condition with very minimal wear for the mileage.
In total, only 1,497 “Flying Mirror” cars were produced between 1984 and 1986 for the worldwide market, only 421 came to North America. This example is the first of approximately 300 Monospecchio models produced for the US in 1986.
This Testarossa features:
Everything works as intended – all power features are fully functional. Absolutely no cracks in the car’s leather, panels or materials.
The Testarossa is powered by a 4.9L 12-cylinder engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection producing 380 hp. It also features a 5-speed dogleg manual transmission featuring a classic Italian gated shifter.
The engine produces 40 more horsepower than its predecessor, the 512 BBi, helping the Testarossa accelerate from 0–60 mph (0-97 km/h) in under 5.8 seconds up to a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
The vehicle is in great mechanical shape and has recently been serviced. The car has been repainted in the original Rosso Corsa paint for cosmetic reasons; no signs of collision or damage of any kind. Clean Carfax report.
