The Ferrari 308 has become one of the most sought after examples in today's market with the early carbureted GTB examples leading the charge. The greatest appeal is the attractive looks of the GTB Coupe paired to a lively driving experience. This highly original lifelong California "blue plate" Ferrari hails from northern coastal region of the state. We believe the car retains large portions of its original paint and unquestionably original tan leather upholstery, which shows nicely with a proper patina. All original glass remains in place (including the California emissions windshield decal), as well as the very rare Blaupunkt Bamberg Stereo Electronic.
Displaying just 55,724 miles, the engine revs effortlessly, with a sharp tune and with great engine compression on each cylinder. All of the electric components are working properly including the clock! A 2017 complete 30k Major Service and inspection was performed at DriverSource, by highly knowledgeable and experienced service specialists. This included all required belts, tensioners, gaskets, seals, filters and fluids, parts were supplied by Ferrari of Houston, along with a new battery, and correct Michelin XWX tires. The factory EGR equipment remains affixed, while the smog pump was removed and discarded in years past. Additional recent service included installation of rear shocks and new control arm bushings. Importantly the 308 retains its original PininFarina body # stamped front and rear bonnets which are stamped "824".
The paint seems to be largely original with minimal paint work seen in areas. Paint imperfections are pictured in our photo gallery. The interior remains remarkably original and with a nice look. The overall cosmetic condition is that of an honest "driver" with beautiful patina.
For those in search of an honest and original carbureted 308 GTB to drive and enjoy, we highly recommend this example - especially for those seeking the uncommon non-red Ferrari. 26003 is accompanied by period sheep skin seat covers, matching spare assembly, original owner's manual and tool kit..
