1983 Ferrari Mondial Coupe Additional Info:
Ferrari is a name that everyone knows and loves. They have produced many different types of vehicles, but one thing remains the same, performance. They have proven themselves on the track and they continue to produce some of the fastest and most reliable production automobiles.
The Pininfarina-penned Mondial was offered in both coupe and cabriolet body styles. The four valves per cylinder, DOHC 2,926-cc, 214-hp alloy V-8 engine was offered from 1982 to 1985 in the coupe version and thi...s engine was fitted to cabriolets from 1983 to 1985. The respective years of production saw only 1,145 coupes (such as this car) produced and the cabriolet was reserved for only 629 clients.
Introduced in 1980, the Ferrari Mondial 2 + 2 coupe replaced the Bertone-bodied 308 GT4, heralding a return to Pininfarina design. While closely related in technical details to its predecessor, the new Mondial carried a longer and wider chassis, providing better passenger accommodations. The Pininfarina-penned Mondial was offered in both coupe and cabriolet body styles. 49491 was completed in December of 1983, and sold new on March 8, 1984 through California Ferrari of San Francisco. The Owner’s Warranty booklet records its first owner as Raiders Organization, and this particular car is believed to have been in the possession of the legendary Al Davis. Finished in the appropriate Argento over Black leather upholstery, the Mondial is fully optioned with all power equipment, sunroof, radio and air conditioning. The Coupe displays original trim, largely original paintwork (see paint depth chart) and rare factory Speedline wheels. Same holds true for the original etched glass and leather interior. Engine and underbody are correct and tidy with upgraded stainless exhaust, while its front compartment contains an unused spare with Michelin TRX tire.
Prior to our ownership, the Ferrari received a new clutch and service. While most recently, a new Scuderia Rampante Innovations fuse box (with The Source) was installed to ensure all future caretakers a lifetime free of box/board problems that plague the 308/Mondial/328 series. Please note the A/C will need servicing for cooler air and the sunroof motor is not functioning. Clean CarFax and Autocheck reports accompany this fantastic example, along with Ferrari car cover, supplemental Ferrari floor mats, and ALL original books, charts and California Emissions Statement in Ferrari cloth folio. We highly recommend this Ferrari Mondial QV with its preserved thoroughbred-Pininfarina styling in a unique color livery and past ownership history.
This vehicle contains its factory books and keys from delivery. All the right boxes were selected when this car was purchased: power windows and brakes, air conditioning and an AM/FM radio are featured on this Italian sports car. The Ferrari has been fitted with a new clutch by the previous owner and just serviced and smog tested.
