1991 Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet Additional Info:
I am offering this wonderful 1991 Mondial t Cabriolet for sale. While Mondials were made from 1980 thru 1993 in large numbers, the t models were the final evolution and most desirable of all. A total of 379 Cabriolet t models were built from 1989 to the end of production in 1993. Many were built with the Auto-shift feature as the company was beginning to move away from traditional manual gear boxes. Certainly these are less valuable. These final t models were fit with a wonderful 3.4 liter Dry Sump Lubrication V8 engine delivering an outstanding 300hp at a breathtaking 7200 rpm. My VIN # of 89558 places the date of manufacture well into May of 1991, almost a 92 model. The Mondial Cabriolet is unique in that they are the only production vehicles manufactured to a four seater rear mid engined FULL convertible design. Considered to be one of Pininfarinas most enduring contemperary styles.
This car began life in Southern California, (actually Turin Italy) and then did its next tour of ownership in sunny and dry Arizona, where I purchased it and moved it to less sunny but equally as beautiful Bedford Village, just 42 miles north on Times Square NYC. 914 403 1768. The car enjoys clean and rich original black factory paint. Absent are dings or door dents so common in our region. The depth of the gloss is outstanding. The glass is perfect and original to the car, not a crack or scratch. The concave 5 star alloys are correct for the t model, as these cars were fit ABS from 1989. Even the center caps are either new, or just look as if they are. Certainly the car would benefit from a pair of new rear tires, as these cars tend to go thru 2 sets of rears for every set of fronts.
The black canvas top is original and is in keeping with its 27 years of age. Things stay nice longer out west. Inside, everything is nicely preserved and original. I have fed the black hides with a traditional leather softener, and you should plan to continue treating it. The dash is wonderful, no cracks and of course the carpeting shows nicely with its red piping and MONDIAL lettering. Front and rear carpeting match. The radio is some modern CD thing, I cant be bothered with trying to figure it out. I imagine the antennae is electric. The electric windows work fine. The original steering wheel is beautiful, the leather wrap and stitching perfect. The horn does not seem to work?
The rear bumper would benefit from a respray, only because the rest of the exterior defies its age. I am told the car is ready for front pads, even though it drives and stops well. The oil is fresh and full. On the subject of the ride, this car is tight and fast. No rattles or noisy shifts. I do not have much in the way of records, perhaps the VIN will help. I was amazed at the overall mechanical condition. Cars from out west simply look and feel different from local New York ones. The car fires up on one turn over, no smoke. The AGM battery is new. On the subject of its price. I have placed the car at a fair price taking into account the mileage and the absence of a complete service history. Please understand that with any purchase of this age, certain repairs should be accounted for. The drivers door handle needs to be reinstalled. Triple black is the most desirable combination, even more so than red, because it helps to smooth out the lines of the car while at the same time reducing the appearance and height of its overall size. This is an original paint, rust and accident free West Coast car!
Feel free to call me or text at 914 403 1768. The car may be viewed at my home in Bedford Village NY. Also, it may be inspected at my local repair shop in Bedford Hills. If you are in need of professional and courteous transportation, please feel free to call Transport Masters, David Lempert at 561 482 7789 for a free quote. thank you for the time to read this verbose advertisement. I have tried to be as transparent as possible, however, I am available to continue in discussion. Good luck, Cheers!! Fireman John Louis
