1959 Edsel Corsair "Lead Sled"
You are viewing a very cool 1959 Edsel Corsair. A lot of love has gone into this car and it has been very well kept. This Edsel is powered by a 332 cid (5.43 liter) engine and a manual 3 on the tree transmission. Motor runs really good. Transmission shifts into every gear smoothly. There has been a lot of work put into this Edsel, I will do my best to recall everything. Lets start with under the hood: New aluminum radiator, battery moved to trunk, new battery, plugs/wires, distributor, new fan, new coil, new relay, inline gas filter, new air filter, painted air filter assembly and valve covers. Everything was shaved under the hood that could be to clean it up. Exterior: Brand new flat black paint job. Hood was sanded to bare metal and clear coated. All chrome was re-chromed. All the stainless besides the hardtop was all straightened and polished. New wide white wall tires and powder coated black rims with chrome bullet lugs. Interior: Brand new interior. Seats were wrapped with a funky retro cloth, new carpet kit, side panels are redone with a diamond stamp vinyl. Chrome bullet knobs for interior instruments. Trunk has been Rhino lined. The Edsel was lowered about 4 inches. Channeled for transmission clearance. Rides very smooth down the road like a cloud. Speed bumps are not your friend. Side glass is all in good shape. Windows roll up and down good. Front windshield has a couple rock chips with one that spidered a couple inches. Back glass is in good shape. Headlights and turn signals all work. Heater is not working. Windshield wipers are disconnected. Only about 2,315 were produced this year. Most got crushed to the poor success of the Edsel now making the Edsel Corsair a car you just don't see anymore on the roads. You will not have to worry about seeing another car like this one at a car show. It always stands out and gets lots of attention. Anyone can go buy a 67 Camaro but not everyone gets a chance to own a unique car like this. Thanks for viewing my ad. I am excited to find the Edsel a new good home. -Ben
