1978 Dodge Power Wagon Additional Info:
1978 Dodge Power Wagon Club Cab / short bed with 440. Runs really strong. Pretty quick for a vintage 4X4. Still has factory full time 4WD with Dana 44 FBJ front axle and Chrysler 9 1/4 rear end. Conversion kits to part time 4 WD with locking hubs are of course available if you don't care too much about originality. This is an original Reno truck, sold new at Reno Dodge in December of 77. The 440 was rebuilt some time ago before i bought the truck, and has some performance upgrades. It is a 4T code 74 vintage block. It is factory equipped with A/C ( needs to be checked for leaks and re-charged ), tilt wheel, vac/volt gauges, and tachometer, Adventurer package, skylight ( factory sunroof ), etc. I believe the factory color is called Medium Canyon Red. The axle ratio is 3.55. The correct original bench seat upholstery is available through Legendary Auto Interiors, as it was the same as could be had in a 78 Lil Red Truck if equipped with a bench seat i believe. The floor pans/ frame and body are extremely nice and rust free ( floor pan pic shows factory undercoat peeling here and there ), with the exception of a small area above the passenger rear wheel well opening, which has a small rust spot ( see pic ). There are a couple of dents in the bed on the passenger side only. Overall a great vintage Dodge Power Wagon, well equipped, and would look awesome painted! Will include a factory AM/FM 8 track Stereo if you want to go back to original. Also have a set of four 15X8 chrome ( they need to be re-chromed ) "wagon wheels", ( a factory option ) available. It could use a new steering coupler ( at the gearbox ) at some point, the fuel gauge stopped working last year ( probably the sending unit or maybe just the float ), the dome light and factory tachometer do not work, will include an extra factory tach. It needs a new heater control cable. The heater core has been replaced ( the hard part! ), and i had new upper and lower ball joints installed, along with new front wheel bearings and front drive u-joints done a couple of years ago. It also has a near new fuel pump, power steering hoses, belts and radiator hoses, and a high capacity 4 row radiator core. Great running truck. Like any vintage vehicle, that has not been completely restored, it needs some things here and there, but this is a great truck and a pretty rare combination according to my 70's Dodge truck expert friend! Priced to sell, please don't hesitate to make a reasonable offer! Many more pictures available, just message me through eBay, and i will be happy to send them and answer any questions you may have. Will also provide my cell number if you want to talk about it in person. Vehicle is sold as-is. Payment can be made by cash in person, or by cashier's/ certified bank check, all funds must clear before vehicle will be released. Thanks for looking!
