1982 Dodge Ram D350 Crew Cab Dually. 360 4bbl, automatic transmission, PS, PDB, A/C, tinted glass, redand gray interior.I have owned this vehicle since 1990 (26 years), and far as I know I'm the second owner. The vehicle came out of the western United States, so the body is very clean, and I have stored the vehicle every winter since I have owned it. This truck was purchased to tow my race car, and when I purchased the truckIhad the truck painted to match my race car colors(red and white) and updated the front end to look like a 1990 (changed grille, bumper, etc.) I also added an Edelbrock Performer intake and aluma coated exhaust headers. The paint and body still looks good, although the lower side moldings are showng their age (not factory moldings) and there are afew very minor scratches and chips here and there. There are also a few minor dings in the roof. There have been many years where I drove the truck less than500 miles, and there was also afew years when I did not drive it at all. This truck would be a great truck to update to Cummins power, and at one time I had planned to do that. I even purchased a complete '92 D350 Cummins (standard cab) to use for the change over, but since I use the truck so little at times, Ihave decided to sell it(I already sold the Cummins truck). The truck could use some updating such as Cummins Power or a 408 andoverdrive transmission, which wouldmake it better for the hi speed cruising. It's not a race truck with the 4.10 gear. The back lash on the ring and pinion could be adjusted as it may clunk a little bit when shifting from Drive to reverse. Nothing is wrong with the differential. it's a DANA 70, it does not make noise, or hum going down the road. It seemed to appear after I hade the transmission rebuilt with a shift kit.The transmission shifts fast and strong between gears. The factory Chrysler AM/FM Cassette radio is getting tired and shouldbe replaced, as the bass, treble, and the fader knob are not working very properly, and reception can be poor.
The truck drives well (just as a 1982 dually would) and I just had 6 brand new Firestone Transport tiresinstalled (not cheap off brands),which cost $1200.00 The engine starts and runs fine with good oil pressure, although there is some lifter noise when it is first started cold. I alsoreplaced thewater pump2 months ago. The transmission was rebuilt several years ago, and has3,000 miles on it since the rebuild. The A/C worked last year, but will need a recharge, as the compressor is not engaging at this time. This was never a rusty or beat up truck, and I only used the truck to tow my race car, chase parts, and go to swap meets during the summer months. I have hauled a lot of parts, engine blocks,Dana's and other stuff in the bed over the years, so the inside of the bed does have a number of dents in it, butI did install a bed/linertray, and spray in liner.
I would have no issuesdriving this truck cross country, but as with any 34 year old vehicle (or any vehicle) things can fail at anytime. No warranty expressed or implied, and the vehicle is sold as is, where is. Transportation/shipping would be the responsibility of the purchaser.I do reserve the right to cancel the auction at anytime, as the vehicle is for sale locally.
Payment method: wire transfer or cash upon pickup. Any other forms of payment would delay delivery.
