Up for sale we have a 1972 Dodge Demon Pro Touring. This Car won the Mopar Muscle True Street Challenge in 2010 and was also a First Place Show Winner at Mopars at the Strip. It started life as a super solid Arizona Car. It underwent a full restoration with a 3 Ring Binder full of documents from the resto along with a disc that has pictures from the resto. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Dodge, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the Demon. When restored they pulled it down to a bare shell and put it on a Rotisserie. The side marker lights and gas cap filler were slicked along with the radiator support being changed. Before paint all the seams were resealed with seam sealer. Everything is covered in many coats of PPG Black that is accented by the House Of Colors White Sparkle Pearl Demon Ghost Stripes. Then everything was covered in many coats of clear that had hours spent buffing and polishing to a mirror finish. All the glass was replaced with the side and rear glass being smoked. The seals were replaced as well as the weather stripping. This Demon has a set of fiber glass bumpers painted to match the car. Also, it comes with a power antenna and a set of custom sport mirrors. To complete the look, it's sitting on a set of Coys with 17x7 up front and a 18x19 " in the rear.
Next, we will take a look at the interior of the '72. On the inside it's a custom job done by The Upholsters in Riverside, CA. It has a set of covered race style seats with the back set removed and a custom enclosure done with speakers mounted in the back. It has a 6 point roll Bar with the swing out side bars with the rear bar able to come out as well. The controls for the AC are hidden behind the ash tray door, and the controls for the Radio are hidden in the glove box. Looking at the dash it has custom instruments by AutoMeter and Led Indicator Lights. It has the correct column with a Tuff Wheel. Also, this Demon comes with A Pistol Grip Shifter and center mount parking brake. Inside the trunk it's been sprayed with Zolatone Gray and Black Trunk Spray. It has a custom built spare tire mount for the 16" Space Saver and they mounted the battery under it. Also it has an Aluminum 20 Gallon fuel sell with sender and a Holley Electric Pump with 3/8" Aluminum Fuel lines. To give it a clean look it has a tool box painted like the body and mounted beside the custom floor jack.
Finally, we will take a look at the driveline of the Dodge. Under the hood it's powered by a built 418 Stroker Motor that has 541 HP and 527 Ft/Lbs of Torque. The engine has Aluminum Magnum Heads, Edelbrock Intake and 750 Holley Race Carb. Also it has TTI Headers with Custom Spintech Dual Exhaust.
