1976 Dodge Colt 4-door survivor with 57,0xx indicated miles and clean Texas title.
This Colt has a great history. The second owner recently recognized the car from my listing and contacted me. He said he bought it around 2013 from the original owner, who purchased it new in 1976 in New Braunfels, TX. She lived only a couple blocks from the dealer and mainly used the car for short local trips. He also said the seats still had their protective plastic when he got it, which may explain how well the original interior has survived.
He provided old photos from his ownership, including an odometer photo showing about 51,894 miles. I passed a Texas inspection recording 56,803 miles in 2021, and have repair invoices showing 56,866. The odometer now shows about 57,004. The Texas title is mileage-exempt due to age, so actual mileage is not guaranteed.
I bought the car in 2021 and spent over $2,800 on documented mechanical and fuel-system work. Receipts, factory service manual, repair manual and vintage sales literature are included.
The car recently started and ran after sitting, but ran at a very high idle. I also found a fuel leak near the tank, and the brakes need service. It is being sold AS-IS as a project and must be transported.
The exterior shows its age with faded paint, dents and rust, but the car is very complete and the original interior is a highlight.
Buyer is responsible for pickup/shipping from the San Antonio, TX area. I’m happy to work with your transporter.
