1948 Dodge Two-Door Club Coupe This wonderful survivor car is ready to hit the highways for many more happy miles of experiencing a true American classic. The current owner bought the car from the original owner, who was a school teacher from the local area in Virginia. The current owner purchased the car in 1982 and has thouroughly enjoyed driving and caring for the car ever since. The latest updates were having the entire 230 cu in engine rebuilt by local reknown engine builder Herb Carwell. The flathead six-cylinder engine was totally rebuilt from top to bottom, creating a great starting and running vehicle. Over the many years of ownership, brakes, tires, a second six volt battery was added, the engine rebuilt, exhaust system updates, latest item was a new fuel pump and transmission mounts. The cars paint, fit and finish are very close to original condition. The paint is about 15 years old and still shines. There are very few dents and dimples and very small indicators of any lingering rust issues on top or bottom. The chassis and body mounts look great. The overall chrome is very good, although not show quality but certainly a high 'driver' appearance. The car runs very nice and is a pleasure to drive. Most of the dash gauges operate such as speedo, gas gauge, etc and there are two aftermarket gauges mounted under the dash on the left side. See pics. The current radio in dash does not work, but the owner is donating another radio that does work. The owner is also donating an extra three speed transmission and driveshaft. Yes, the heater and defroster work. The trunk is huge and in great shape right down to the floor mat. All of the glass is in great shape and the windows roll up and down as they should.
