1961 Dodge Polara, Very straight, very stock, and very rust free. I purchased this out of the desert in Nevada about 3 years ago. I love these early Virgil Exner cars, and I would really love to finish this car and drive i, but I just had a surgery and am not likely to get to it for another 3 years ... and I know it is not doing the car any good to sit in my barn.
Car is complet, blue interior looks good, but is dry in some places and cracked. Dash is cracked.
Engine was removed (original was a 360?). and I bought a 1963 Chrysler Imperial to harvest the recently-rebuilt 413 high output V8 and pushbutton 727 from i, and I did install them into the Dodge here.
I have NOT hooked them up yet, but I did buy $700 'Floating Power' motor mounts for the 413 and built a custom crossmember for the transmission which is in now.
Pushbutton transmission controls need to be hooked up as well as wires, and fuel lines, and a driveshaft built for this. Old driveshafts included.
Gas tank is clean and rust free.
Car rolls easily.
I am sure this car will need the brakes gone through.
The last time this was registered was 1985. I was told this is a 2 - owner car, and the second owner never drove it.

I have original pink slip/ title from 1984 . Also have original 1961 owners manual.
Floor / trunk floor all perfec, although there is slight surface rust in the trunk.
What else can I tell you ? Car does not run, but is a beautiful, worthwhile project.
