This was purchased new by my father when he returned home to Texas after Vietnam. He gaveitmy big brother when he returned from Desert Storm, and it passedonto me in 2023.

It was originallyred with a black interiorand a 3832BBL auto. My father always kept it in good condition.My brotherdrove and enjoyed it all through college. After saving up,heworked with a Dallas builder to transform it into R/T tributein 2006.
Theyperformed a rotisserie restoration.Repainted it brightred,removed the vinyltop,putin a new interior, and swapped out the 383with a high torque coded 440 and added the 4speed.
Since I received it,it hasbeen in the care of a local master mechanic who I assist on the weekends. I try to get out and drive it every Saturday. It was absolutely show quality in 2006, but as the years went by it now needs a refresh, restoration, and I'm sorry to say - a new home as life takes me in new directions.
Again from 12feet it looksbeautiful, but up close you notice the flaws.
1st the Good-

It starts strong, runs well, and stops well.

In the last3years,I have replaced the:

•Master Cylinder and brake booster•Flywheel and clutch disk•Exhaust manifold gaskets•Cross clutch bearings•Alternator•Starter•Spark plugs•Fan belts•Power steering pump•Pittman arm•Engine mounts•Distributor cap and rotor•Ignition wires•Speedo cable•New linkage•Holley 4 BBL carburetor•Intake gaskets•Ignition switch•Headlight vacuum switch

Now for the Bad- please see photos
Body-

•The paint is cracking and peeling in several spots•The sticker is cracked•There is rust around gascap, rear quarters and throughout•Thereisa good scratch and dent on front right fender•Some pitting on bumper chrome•Dent on rear wheel•The Door pin fell out on the driver’sside,so door swings open wide

Engine and drive trainandmisc-

•The gauges are touchy•The tires are 18 years old•It needs new shocks•Lighting needs to be gone through including the reverse light switch, which I installed, but is not working•Windows are stiff when rolling up •Glovebox door needs an adjustment•Linkage will need an adjustment- gear shift pops out of reverse sometimes•Although I changed the speedo cable, the speedo bounces and sometimes does not work. Odometer is also touchy. I think there was about 80K miles at the time he did the restoration. He may have driven it another couple of hundreds miles a year after. I did the same.

Interior-

•Last year, I removed the carpet,sound proofing, and seat belts with plans to replace them becausethey were worn. I never was able to.•The white interior isintact butneedsrefreshingand repair -especially the door panels which are tired and worn. I would also change the headliner.

I tried to give the most thorough and honest description I could. Ithink it woulddefinitely bebest to see it in person, or have a third party inspector look at it. Iwant it to go to a good new home and get the restoration it deserves so someone can love and enjoy it. It will need a complete going through.
