1978 Dodge Other Pickups Adventurer Additional Info:

For Sale: 1978 Dodge D150 Adventurer SE standard cab 2wd pickup. Factory equipped with the 440 CID engine. One of approximately 76 such trucks made for 1978, so extremely low production numbers. Appears to be all original paint and sheet metal, although the paint is shot on the hood and top of the cab. It does have a nice patina to it though. The only rust I can find on the truck is a couple of quarter size spots way down low on the front fenders behind the front wheels. The rest of the truck is rust free. I bought it several years ago out of Wyoming. I have the original build sheet and underhood option decal to show the 440 option. Also, the second D in the VIN signifies a 440. The truck has new tires on it, and a brand new dual exhaust system that I had installed with turbo style mufflers. The truck had no cats on it from the factory. I also tracked down and installed factory road wheels with beauty rings. The front bumper has been replaced with a new reproduction. The factory jack and handle are even still in place under the hood. The driver's side of the bench seat is torn through and worn, but useable. The carpet in the truck is shot, but I have a new loop pile set in the box that goes with the truck. The inside of the bed is really nice, with no rust, but there are a few holes in the box floor where a hitch may have been mounted at some point. I also have not attempted to switch tanks, I believe it is currently drawing off of the cab tank.The transmission pan gasket is leaking and will need replaced. I will include a new one with the truck.The A/C does not currently function, although all the components are in place including the compressor belt.The truck is hard to start when it is cold and has to be primed with a gas can. Once it is warmed up, it restarts easily. The truck has a troublesome Edelbrock carburetor on it currently. However, it is highly recommended that any potential buyer inspect the vehicle before purchase. I have not driven this vehicle more than a few blocks at a time, so I also recommend that you trailer it home until a proper mechanical inspection can be performed.
