1989 Dodge Other Pickups Additional Info:

Here is my 1989 Dodge D100 that I must part with. Here are the details:

Milage: 38000 (the ODO only has 5 digits, so it's likely 138000)

Engine: 3.9L V6

Transmission: Automatic

Body: Short bed standard cab pickup

Drive: 2WD

Paint: I'd rate it a 7 out of 10

Interior: I'd rate it a 7 out of 10

I've owned it for a short amount of time and I have other projects that need my attention (like getting a job!). I've done quite a bit of work to make it a dependable cruiser.

Recent work includes:

Rebuilt throttle body

All new fuel lines

Resealed fuel tank

New Battery

New Coolant hoses

New belts

New tune up parts

Rebuilt wiper linkage

New air shocks (rear)

New tires and wheels (previous owner)

New Radiator (previous owner)

New A/C Compressor (previous owner)

New heater Core (previous owner)

LED lighting (previous owner)

Notable items: The previous owner lowered the truck using van lower control arms, flipped axle kit and dropped hangers. He also changed the bolt pattern to get a better selection of wheels.

The good:

The truck shows great. It drives really good for being lowered. It runs good and starts every time. The transmission shifts good. I added the air shocks for the Home Depot runs. It's got a bluetooth radio that doesn't sound too bad. The A/C and heater work great. The truck originally came from Florida and I purchased it in Indiana earlier this year. It passed the KY state safety inspection (pretty basic). The chrome and trim appears to be original and it's in good condition. The bed has a spray in liner and a roll up cover. The windows are tinted. The front seat and carpet is showing a little wear, but it's in pretty good shape. It has flow master mufflers that dump right before the roll pan and it sounds healthy for a V6!

The bad:

It's a lowered truck so it's a little bouncy. It's a V6 so you aren't going to win any stop light races. Although it was a Florida truck, it looks like the roof may have had some rust repair. I'm not sure how bad it was though and I don’t see any other evidence of rust anywhere else. The paint has some chips and blemishes however it shines very good and gets plenty of attention. The door panels and dash have been dyed by the previous owner and there is a little overspray on some of the components.

The ugly:

Although the engine compartment appears completely stock and original, the majority of the emissions equipment have been disconnected or bypassed. That means that all you folks in CA (and some other states) need to move on to the next sexy D100 short bed. The cats are no longer there. The air pump is locked up and the EGR and EVAP system is non functional. With this said, it does seem to run a little rich, and if you are parking it in your garage, it'll give it that nice old car smell. The steering is a little tight. You may ask "what's wrong with tight steering?" well, the steering wheel does not come completely back to center on it's own. A little detail, but I figured I need to share it. I've done some work to make it better, but it's not perfect. I believe that the steering column might be the culprit, but it's not a deal breaker. Lastly, it appears that there is a bit of a transmission leak if it sits for any length of time. I'm pretty sure its coming from the selector shaft seal, but it may need more.

All in all, it's a good looking short bed Dodge that gets a TON of attention. Sure it could be faster and it could have perfect paint and interior. But then you'd be spending a lot more for it and not having the fun of making it your own to be proud of it! I believe I have a reasonable reserve on the truck. I'm not looking on making bank on it, just trying to get back what I've put into it on top of what I bought it for which should be pretty reasonable.

As a bonus, I have a 1996 complete magnum 5.2L and auto trans that I can throw in for a reasonable price if you have to have the V8 powered D100 that you've always wanted!

Oh, one more thing! I have a car trailer and a pretty reliable Ford Super Duty (I know...oxymoron). Anyhow, I can deliver it if it's up to 200 miles from Louisville KY for a very fair price. We can discuss those details if you are interested.
