This is a solid, great running 67 Dodge Sweptline with the 283 V-8 that we drive for ice cream all summer.
I bought it from my country neighbor’s yard, not running, in 2018. Since then, I’ve replaced the main bearings, the rod bearings, rings, (with honing and lapping), front and rear seals, gasket set and plugs.
I replaced the clutch pressure plate, friction disc., throw out bearing and slave cylinder.
I changed the rear diff. from3.55 to 2.76 and added taller rear tires for better highway speeds. I also replaced the pinion bearing, seal and both rear axle bearings.
I fabricated new rocker panels by hammering them into a metal mold then sanding them smooth before using only a skim coat of Bondo before priming and clear coating.
I replaced all the broken glass and weatherstripping and replaced the gauge cluster.
This isn’t a shiny, but it’s not a pile of junk either. It runs great and looks good,(very little rust), the way it is. I had it appraised at 17k last year by a local classic car appraiser and it gets the "thumbs up” every time we take it for a drive.
