1956 Dodge Other Pickups Additional Info:

Up for sale is my beloved gal Morticia. 1956 Dodge pickup truck, I saved her from the crusher 17 years ago. Put her back on the streets and she has been great to me for all this time. She has had a few different paint schemes and wheels but the drivetrain is tried and true. This is the lowest Dodge of this year on stock components. She did the longhaul power tour in 2016 without an issue. 3k miles in 10 days. Many 100 to 500 mile weekends when I drove her more often.Engine and trans came from a 1969 Coronet with 55k miles. The motor has been rebuilt 4 years ago with a purple cam, .030 bored out to clean things up, new bearings and seals, water pump etc. The intake is a Old Edelbrock Torker intake with a Quickfuel 450 slayer on top. Stock dodge fuel pump feeds the motor perfectly fine and easy to find replacements at parts stores. It really needs some more carburation to really take effect of the purple cam, I would run a 650 double pumper to wake her up some more. The ignition is a MSD Digital 6 box with a Probillet distributor and a blaster 2 coil, feeding the Taylor Spirapro wires and some good ole champion spark plugs. The Powermaster 160 amp alternator was added in 2023, the AC compressor was installed in 2013. The motor is kept cool by a aluminum radiator and a clutch fan. The 904 trans is un rebuilt with ZERO leaks or issues, perfect working condition. The clutches were inspected 5 years ago when doing a drop and refil with a new filter, all looks stellar, no issues in the pan etc. It has a huge stacked plate trans cooler that keeps the trans BONE cold! All this feeds the 8.75" Mopar rear axle out of a 69 Plymouth Baracuda. 2.92 Geared to highway cruise. 80 MPH is 2900 RPM. Engine temps are 180 at cruise with AC on, and I have only seen it creep to 200 a few times sitting in traffic in super hot days. Few minutes on the freeway it drops back down to normal. Exhaust is stock manifolds, with 2.5" tubing and good aggressive mufflers with it exiting out the back. It has a RCI 17 gallon fuel cell mounted at the back of the truck. The motor runs Mobil One oil.Onto Suspension and brakes. The front is a Nostalgia Sids front axle 3" drop with new kingpins installed at the time. 2 leaf's removed from the stock leaf pack, and a reverse eye main leaf. Steering box was raised 1.5" and a adjustable Heim drag link to correct the steering angle. The box was rebuilt 2022, the shaft was also shortened 1.5" to gain more room for the driver! Ride is still very well, the front shocks could use a change to new shocks due to the control not being quite as well in the corners anymore, but no bounce at all etc. The rear suspension is flipped axle with a few leaf's removed. The rear is step notched for the truck to ultimately be bagged or still used as a truck. The rear shocks are QA1 single adjustable shocks. The stopping power is GM metric calipers up front on custom brackets, Stock dodge idler hubs with a slip on rotor from a 99 Dodge avenger. The rears are stock drum brakes off the 8.75 Rear end. The Master cylinder is a Wilwood dual circuit in the stock location with remote reservoirs that are mounted to the fender liner.Interior and other do dads.AC is a vintage air Heritage under dash with AC only. This was added in 2024.The audio system is what is left of its competition Sound Quality system that was competed with in 2010 and 2011. The Truck took 2nd place Intro SQ at USACI world finals in 2011, Texas championship in 2010 and 2011. The head unit is a Alpine, and the door speakers are Pioneer Component, The power to these are a Rockford Fosgate power 400.4 and the JL audio sub is fed by a RF 500.1 BD Power series. The floor has 2 layers of Dynamat, firewall has 1, the truck is completely lined with Dynapad and dynaliner to help the acoustics and heat transmission. The shifter is a B&m shifter with a raised mount to get cup holders. The seat is a 69 Dodge pickup seat, works fine, please note the springs are a bit worn out, it really could use a full rebuild or pull the springs and go with Foam. It has all new interior panels, the door panels were wrapped with Mexican Blankets to tie into the color scheme outside. The Gauges are all Autometer gauges, very timeless look with the way the dash looks etc. There is no carpet installed, its just the insulation, I just never got around to installing carpet so finish the truck however you would like to.Body and BED..The cowl vent has been shaved, the firewall was shaved and recessed for fitment of the 318 in there. This truck retains stock badging. The bed has a raised bed floor to fit the step notch in. The bed is distressed pine wood. I normally haul quite a bit of stuff in this truck so the hauling has added to the distressed look and patina look of the bed floor. The hood is the last year of a stock split hood on any production truck that I know of. Its cool to be different. Makes working on things tons easier.Paint is sealer sprayed over the primer, the truck could really be Patina faked up easily or fully painted, there is NO rust holes anywhere on this truck that I know of, the floors were sealed and painted. The truck has pretty new rubber seals around the doors.Wheels are 15x7 supreme wheels with BRAND new Uniroyal whitewalls. My tire shop sucks at balancing and the rears have a slight vibration at 70 but not terrible.Final thoughts. Some notable things. This has manual steering, manual brakes, it's a good hotrod that is fun to drive and gets looks everywhere. Its not perfect, the paint sealer is satin and discolored in a few spots etc with some scratches and scuffs here and there from wear and tear. The interior dash and doors have wear and tear, few spots of overspray. The truck has been stored in climate controlled garage for 90% of its life since being saved by me. The other 10 % is road-trips, hotels and parking lots on the way. There is ZERO bump steer and it tracks down the road perfectly!Things I think need replaced to better it.Front shocks, Windshield (Due to delamination around the edges) And seal. Add a electric windshield wiper motor.Paint should be easily done, or drive it as is and let mother nature paint her up for you.She has been a great truck to me, due to some injuries I sustained years ago, I just don't drive the old gal like I used to. She deserves better and that's what I am hoping to accomplish by selling her. Fly in and drive her home. She loves to click off miles.Walkaround of the truck last Spring hauling a load of firewood!https://youtu.be/1fh3ftMYYUI?si=N9oZ63TmAnliPAMZ
