Up for auction we have a storage fresh time capsul Dodge dart nostalgia drag car with a large race history and a cool story !!Real dart gt 273 v8 car California car has been a drag car since day one was originally built as a magazine test car by a old magazine similar to popular mechanics with a 13.1 273 it then progressed into what you see here.Car was originally out of Redono Beach the original owner and builder owned a TV repair shop and this was his race car.This car raced all over California many tracks that no longer exist such as Lion's and Palmdale to name a few.It was heavily street raced aswell at many popular California areas in its day !!It was a multi class winner and Nhra points winner in its day with quickest times of 10.50s But it was mainly a 11.0 bracket car.The original owner retired and moved to Massachusetts in 1995 and put the car away untill I recently acquired it from him.This car is a true time capsule it's 100% untouched from when it was last raced besides the basics I did to it to get it up and running again.The car is all steel with all of its original glass windows it retains all of its original sheetmetal there is no body work or patch work on the car besides the shaved gas filler and flared wheel wells this is a rot free Cali car with perfect floors rails quarters door etc zero rot anywhere !!The engine is a 440 30 over 13.1 comp with real deal 4 bolt valve cover stage 3 max wedge heads all forged internal, cran, rod, piston, 590 lift solid rolle, victor jr intake, Holley 850 carb built by someone who actually worked at edelbrock in the day which is funny. It has huge primary hand made headers.The transmission is a built hemi 727 reverse manual valve body with a blow shield and a blanket, 8" converter 3500 stall.It has stock front suspension the frame is tied 2x4 boxed backhalfed real deal Superstock leaf springs Dana 60 with 4:88s. It has a 6 point chromoly cage that is nicely done with a fiberglass race seat it still retains its original dash headliner door panels carpet shifter housing quarter panels etc.It has Cragar supertricks in the rear and Centerlines in the front all four tires hold air but are badly cracked.It has a cool round tank aluminum fuel cell.The body and paint are in excellent condition it's painted a wild metallic grey with pink purple and blue tint in it depends how the sun hits its.I rebuilt the brakes rebuilt the carb fresh fuel lines I put a used holley black pump in it that I had kicking around it has a brand new derale tranny cooler and lines that is wired on the same switch as the fan and all fresh fluids.The car runs excellent and has perfect oil pressure transmission shifts perfect and stalls up like the last time it was raced.To be track ready it needs tires harnesses and a battery shut off.To be streetable is needs a alternator and the lights wired up.Car has a California title from 1978 and it's California plate from when it was last used on the street.Included in the sale is the original owners race jacket some hand written time slips from various tracks that no longer exists and a few other things from when it was last raced.This is not some backyard built old race car.
