1985 Dodge Ram 2500 Prospector Additional Info:

This vintage classic dazzles like diamonds in the daylight!
NO SALES TAX! Truck is located in southern Oregon, and always registered in Oregon since new.

Odometer shows 63K miles. While I cannot authenticate the mileage, the lack of wear on the ring and pinion, brake pedal pad, seat and carpet would all indicate actual mileage.
Bulk of Ownership was by a gentleman who passed away in 2023. Last registered in 2016, it sat for 6 years collecting pine needles, after having lived most of its life doing ranch duties.
Having been revived from its slumber, the following items have all been replaced:
Tune-up, with plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor cap and air filter.
Oil & filter change
Transmission fluid and filter change
Differential gear lube change
All brake components at the wheels. Wheel cylinders, rear shoes and springs, calipers and pads. Drums turned with only one 0.005 pass needed to clean them up. One caliper was stuck, so they both got replaced. Front brakes had recently been done, so rotors were in excellent condition and did not require any machining.
New muffler and tail pipe
New tail, turn, back-up and brake light bulbs
New belts
New valve cover gaskets
New rear axle sealsNew wiper bladesNew 110 amp alternator

Engine runs strong and transmission shifts are tight.
Rear axle bearings and the differential look nearly new, with nearly imperceptible wear markings. Front wheel bearings and seals in excellent condition.
It sports a beautiful set of Futura Scrambler lug tread 8.75 R 16.5 tires with 3 spares. The under bed mounted spare is original to the truck and looks nearly new. The other 2 spares are part of the matched set of the Futura Scramblers.
Truck is equipped with headers into a single 3" exhaust. One slight leak on drivers side. The exhaust and the removal of the A.I.R. emission pump are the only items that keep the engine from being bone stock. I CAN provide a pair of correct stock exhaust manifolds and the air pump with brackets for an additional $250. (The A.I.R. pump will need rebuilt, if you choose this option)
This truck is not without your typical "character marks" and other flaws associated with age. The metallic brown basecoat/clearcoat sides have been repainted, but the only body work I can see is a skim coat on the drivers front fender which is readily revealed in the photo. Cream color is all original paint with the exception of the upper portion of the passenger door. All paintwork was done in a time frame that I would estimate to be 30 years ago or more. There is some blistering under the paint on the drivers side that I would attribute to prep. (Examine photos!!) It is certainly not rust, as there is no rot rust to be seen anywhere on the truck. More photos available upon request.
Mirrors have been replaced over time. See photos for facilitated repair on extra holes.
Examine all photos carefully. I have done due diligence to provide the detailed photos of what to expect for paint and body condition.
Buyer will receive 1 quart each of professional detailing products for (1) rubber dressing and (1) all-in-one liquid spray polish for paint, rubber, trim and windows. Spray it on and burnish it for all surfaces.
Original cloth seat and carpet in excellent condition.
Door panels have been refinished, and drivers armrest is repaired.
The bed has holes from a 5th wheel mount. The brackets remain on the frame.
A/C was retrofitted with aftermarket refrigerant. Currently not charged.
Vacuum connector for the heater control has crumbled. As a result, air only discharges through the vents.
Headers being installed and limited run times around the ranch have caused a build-up of carbon in the exhaust crossover of the intake manifold. As a result, the base of the carburetor remains cold and additional time is required for the engine to reach full operating temperature.
I have given full disclosure of any issues that I know.
