Must See To Appreciate

Clean & Clear Title

$48,000 Buys It

In 2022, I purchased this car from the second owner when the opportunity to purchase this rare piece of history was presented. The second owner had completed the restoration due to the first owner passing away. This restoration was done properly & precisely. No expenses, between time and funds, were spared. Many original parts were removed, reconditioned and re-installed. The preservation of the car has been handled very well. I may have only put 100 miles (or so) on the car myself in the 4 years I have owned it. I wanted to preserve the vehicle as best as I could. I am very sad to see it go, but I am moving and I have no room for this one as I just bought a few more cars recently and can’t fit all of them at the new property.

First series of pictures are from the original owner, who passed, beginning the restoration. He left the car to his sister, that was when the second owner bought the car. Immediately brought to its new home, he began to finish the car. The pictures show the car in his garage after purchasing it from California. He personally removed, replaced, repaired, and restored all of the Burnt Orange Metal & Plastic interior parts as documented in the pictures.

The engine compartment, bottom of the hood, and entire trunk were stripped and refinished in base coat, Go Mango, then cleared to match by Fenders & Fins in Woodinville WA.

There is No Build Sheet or Fender Tag.

Pictures tell the story of what was, what is, & what will always be a piece of Dodge history. With all that being said and out-of-the-way let’s start talking about the condition.

Running Condition

This original matching-numbers V8 318 has been completely rebuilt and has less than 5000 miles. The transmission has plenty of life and power left in her. At full throttle, this V8-318 will still lay rubber as if it was 1970 summer break. It has plenty of power and sounds beautiful. There’s nothing like an old muscle car. The sound and feel of the motor is incomparable. The motor does not knock, smoke, or make any funny noises with no known leaks. The automatic transmission is the original matching transmission. It shifts through all gears like butter.

Body & Paint

The paint is exceptional, straight as an arrow down the sides. The car has never been in any accidents. There are no waves, nor is there any orange peel. The car received one repaint through its entire life, professionally finished in its factory correct colors. All of the doors, hood, trunk, glass, chrome trim, and vinyl top were properly removed prior to the car being painted then reinstalled. All of the door jams, under the hood, and trunk compartment look terrific. There is absolutely no rust under the vinyl top & or anywhere else on the car and there are photos listed here showing the vehicle disassembled when it was painted

Interior

All of the upholstery and panels are in excellent condition. Dashboard is perfect with no cracks, the door panels are nice and solid and the carpet is tight. Everything looks great with no discoloration. The seats are still nice and firm, not loose and worn out. The car will need a radio never quite got around to getting just the right radio installed. I recommend going with a retro radio that looks like the original but with the latest features like Bluetooth.

Engine Bay, Trunk, & Undercarriage

All of the undercarriage is in excellent original condition as seen confirming this is a completely rust free car. The trunk compartment is no exception, appearing just as amazing.

Glass & Chrome

All of the glass looks & cleans great with no cracks, chipping, or blemishing. All of the chrome is in excellent condition with no bends, nicks or dents. All of the felt rubbers and gaskets are in impressive condition without any cracking or brittle areas.

Wheels & Tires

The 18” wheels are perfect with no curb crash. The tires, although they have lots of tread and no soft spots, are very old and wouldn’t recommend taking it on any really long distance trip with these tires.
