1974 Dodge Power Wagon W100 Short Bed Additional Info:
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, I AM BEING AS COMPLETE AS POSSIBLE, This is a Divorced Transfer Case 1974 W100, look it up if you don't know these trucks:
- Arizona truck. Nearly perfect sheet metal. Very few and very minor dings. Cab corners and cab supports perfect. All under mounting points perfect. Short bed is not beat up or rusted, at all. The kid who painted it did a half ass job, it looks good but he really didn't do it right, overspray and could have spent more time prepping, it's not terrible, I'd call it a 8. He also put a grill from a "78 on it and two LED headlights on it. I personally don't like them and would put it back to original. But then I'm more traditional that most 25 year old gen-whatever's are.
- One of the best and heaviest 6" lift kits I've ever seen on a truck, ever. Brand New Hankook 33.5's all around. Chrome wheels in pretty good shape
- Driveline gone through in the last 500 miles. New bearings on all points of the dana 44 (Front) and Dana 60 (rear) are replaced. Transfer case and differential seals replaced. New Lock out hubs
- New brake components installed, drums, all cylinders (Master and Wheels) new brake lines as needed. New power brake booster installed.
- Truck has factory correct and original 360LA motor with the Factory 4brl option. This means it came with the 2.02 / 1.60 valve sized (340HP Heads) which were built for the Little Red Express and some 4brl optioned Power Wagons of that year. (72-74) Dual exhaust. I've got it back to two thrush G-packs and stops just after cab. I can't decide if I want it to go out the sides or all the way back. You get to chose
- The truck had factory air conditioning, the condenser and most lines are there but the compressor and brackets are missing. Easily found and can be restored.
- New Summit Racing (correct code) Thermoquad installed and tuned. Manual Choke. (Can not find the choke stove setup for factory original) New distributor, wires, plugs, etc. New power steering pump, New battery, and misc stuff.
- New carpet and new heated leather seats
- The dash is rough, I've been looking for a replacement and have located a couple that will work but wanted the mechanical stuff done first. The Army guy I bought this from in Phoenix had messed up the dash trying to put some crappy sound system in it. He also put a 200 watt amp under the seat. It was draining the battery so I just unhooked it. It's still there if you care about that crap,, I don't. The visors are missing but they are 100$ at DMC Truck parts. Easy to get. The interior trim needs attention due to failed attempt by previous owner to put now vinyl covering on. Easy fix.
- The windshield has a couple of stars. They are easily located since the D100-D250 series will fit it for multiple years. I've not replaced since you pretty much have to pull the dash to replace the windshield and I am planning to do it all at once. If it doesn't sell. The rest of the glass is all there and perfect. The doors are complete with no sag or bad hinges. The sweeps and races are shot. I have new ones from Precision Manufacturing that come with the truck but I've not installed them yet. There is a video on Precisions web site detailing the process. Looks like it takes 2-3 hours per door. The door seals are new and already on it. Has a few wiring issues in the dash due to the above mentioned idiocy concerning the stupid sound system.
- All and all a good correct code Power Wagon. Mechanically strong. Needs some cosmetics. Needs to be put finished off right. I'd call it about 90% done.
- These trucks are rare and this one is the best one I could find in the country and I looked for MONTH and looked EVERYWHERE. Found it in Arizona and shipped it back to Tennessee to restore. No time to finish since I'm on a new job that requires full time travel. Hate to let it go but I'm not doing it justice any longer.
- I've got about $12,500 in this truck so far. I truly believe with another $1,000 - 1,500 put into it and two or three weekend it would bring $20,000 at Meacum Auction. I did, or had done, the mechanical stuff first and was getting to the punch out list of cosmetic stuff when I took this new job.
- I've posted a price on this truck for what I have in it dollar wise, not labor lol. Make me a reasonable offer and you might get it for a bit less. I will not give it away though. Rather just put it in my shop and get back on it later.
