We believe this is a hard-to-find, 1-family-owned, 1 year-only-body-style 1962 Dodge Dart 440 4-door-Hardtop with just under 84K original miles as told by the Owner's grandson.
Car owned by grandparents from new and parked in a climate controlled garage since around 1970 (about 30 years). It was fired up occasionally and rarely driven.
There were several versions of this 1 year only "B" body style 62 Dodge Dart; 4-door wagons, 4-door sedans, 2-door sedans, 2-door hardtops, 2-door convertibles, and 4-door hardtops.
In addition, model designations provided varying levels of appointments and options for its day, including the entry 330, intermediate 440 and top of the line Polara 500; however this 440 4-door Hardtop is rarely seen on the road or at local car shows, especially in very good driver condition as this car is.

Car is as it came out of the factory with correct rebuilt Poly 318 V8 engine with push-button automatic transmission, all in very good running condition with only a few miles since rebuild. Car starts, drives, stops and reverses like it should with no rattles, squeaks, etc.
Rebuilt two-barrel carburetor with A/C idle solenoid, fitted new air cleaner, water pump, push rods and lifters, timing chain and gear; updated Pertronix ignition, new Blaster coil, plugs and leads. Power steering with new steering pump and hoses.
Rebuilt drum brakes consisting of cylinders, hardware kits, steel brake lines and master cylinder. New gas tank with mounting strap, steel gas lines, tank ground strap and new sending unit. Original radiator core de-caulked with new hoses and belts.
Installed a new under dash 134A A/C system with new Sanden style compressor, new dryer, new condenser, new fan and fan clutch on new high volume water pump. Original heater works great.
The car is in great shape for its age with solid sub-frame rails, etc. Undercarriage sealed at factory with only minor surface rust. The doors “click” open/closed easily. All 4 windows roll up/down with no binding. The only minor rust was on the rear lower quarter panels behind the wheel arches, which was repaired by our body/paint shop.
Factory painted in light blue and repainted at some time. Like new 2-tone blue vinyl interior featuring Dart emblems. All gauges/dash lights work as well as the original AM radio. Hi-Low headlights, brake lights, turn signals and reverse lights all work.
Black powder coated original 14" steel wheels (date coded 11/61) with new 235/R60/14 Cooper Cobra radial tires with original hubcaps. Original spare, jack and lug wrench in trunk.
Original lenses are in good shape hence cleaned/polished and installed with new seals, new door wind laces, trunk seal, hood to radiator and hood to cowl seals, hood-door bumpers and 4-door rubber weatherstripping/seals. Chrome/stainless in very good shape, bumpers showing slight weathering, could use polish and buffing.
New correct Dodge custom gunmetal gray carpet with new white perforated headliner, white sun visors and new front bench seat blue lap belts.
This 1-year-only unique body style 4-door Dodge 440 hardtop is a real time-capsule with the only modern upgrades being electronic ignition, A/C and new Cooper Cobra radial tires.
Original spare, jack and lug wrench in rust-free trunk. Original 1962 Owner's Manual, original 1962 Dodge Service Record book. Factory Broadcast/Built Sheet.
