1983 Dodge Other Pickups Sports Additional Info:
1983 Dodge Other Pickups Sports. Condition is Used.DIESEL!!! Barn queen. This clean, perfect running and rare 1983 Dodge Power Ram D50 turbo-diesel has never seen a Maine winter, nor driven off road, well maintained, never wrecked. It's a real head turner with it's looks and that diesel growl, used to be brown but previous owner had it painted black.
Previously from Fort Lewis Washington in 2012, carried on a flatbed auto hauler trailer to Maine and has lived in the barn every single winter, not a snow flake has fallen on this baby. She gets started once a week to keep the seals from drying out during the winter.
Mechanically rock solid; 5 speed manual 4WD w2hi/4hi/4lo runs flawlessly. My records show I bought her in 2012 with 111,000 miles, immediately did full service including new timing belt, rear main seal, filters and thorough inspection. New clutch although it didn't need one; I don't have the papers for that though but I won't charge for it either.
Engine is the L028 Mitsubishi 4D55 2.3L turbo diesel
She is tagged as an antique auto and has been so all her Maine life since 2013.
As you can see, for the last 7 years I've put less than 1,000 miles on per year; all of them are on the road except for the annual slow drive in 4WD through the orchard to make sure the 4WD gets a little exercise.
As an older truck there are a few cosmetic issues; peeling paint in a few places and the rocker panels are a little squishy, also a small hole in the bed; the auto body shop said $791 to fix all of that which is reflected in my price.
Electricals are all good except for the steering wheel horn. I do get power to the horn but it won't cut off; the horn itself is burned out as a result I believe but I have pulled the fuse.
The auxiliary and much louder horn (button on dashboard) does work however.
Has block heater
Kenwood sound system, control panel is removable for security or winter storage; the speakers are incredible (2 behind the front seats, 1 in each door.
No Air Conditioner although there was one years ago, the vents and heater of course work as do all the other electricals; the heater and defroster also work as they should.
Rudimentary 'Gorilla' alarm system
Oversized tires on sport rims; this reduces your mpg but she drives like a dream down the road. Those tires do however rub when you must turn very sharply in a parking lot; absolutely no rubbing going down the road or normal street and highway turns. You could reduce the size on those tires a bit but I never did; they look so amazing don't they?
Has Washington Title, registered as an antique in Maine. As an antique, Maine does not require me to re-title on this antique. I will of course provide a bill of sale, sign over the title etc. to her next owner along with the registration signed over.
Adult owned, non-smoker but I am a pet owner.
I burn only #1 diesel with Cetane additive, get about 25mpg on average.
Nearest airport is Presque Isle, Maine
