1949 Dodge Other Pickups Truck Additional Info:
This is Melvin, my 1949 Dodge B-1-C 3/4 ton truck. Melvin, henceforth to be called truck 1, needs some work (more details below), but comes with many parts that were removed from him as well as two 3/4 ton parts trucks. He has a clean and clear title in my name. Additional photos are in the description. Note about parts trucks: They are being stored in Columbia, Missouri which is approximately 1-1/2 hours away from truck 1’s location First, the things the trucks have in common: - They are all 3/4 ton trucks with 116” wheelbase and built in Detroit - They all have complete or nearly complete Dodge I6 flathead engines (more information by truck below) - They are all projects because they are non-running and have rust - Each has a set of wheels, most of which are the originals with the clips for the hubcaps. They may be rough, but you should be able to make a full set from them. - Obviously it would take a lot of work, but there may be enough parts to make two good trucks out of these. My original idea was one good truck and one rat rod truck. Truck 1 - The best of the three trucks - Engine turns over by hand - Engine was supposedly rebuilt (farm rebuild) sometime in the mid 1990's, but then truck was never used - Body is okay shape with rust spots in typical places - Bed is not attached so it is just sitting on the frame and the bed wood is rotted - A lot of the exterior parts have been removed for storage including the hood ornament and decals - Currently sitting a Chevy wheels for rolling around, but has three original wheels that go with it - Interior is rough, but not completely rusted. Transmission cover is with removed parts, but is rough on the edges. Floor has been cut in front of pedals for some unknown reason. And the some of the floor is just resting there (not bolted in) - Has shorter side steps that only go to back of cab, which looks really good to me - Rear fenders are shown in parts photo and as you can see they have either been modified or are some custom fabrication Truck 2 (Black Pilot-house) - This truck is a 1950 B-2-C 3/4 ton truck - Probably best feature of this truck is the rare interior mirror bracket - Truck is very rough with lots of rust - Has 2nd most complete engine because it has a carb, but will need rebuilt. Have not attempted to turn engine Truck 3 (Green 3 Window) - 1949 B-1-C 3/4 ton truck - Best feature is the front end chrome pieces - Missing front fenders - Truck is very rough - Has interesting rear bumper that I believe is original - Engine is least complete, but still appears to have everything except carb. Have not attempted to turn engine If you have any more questions, please let us know.
