Real A53 code Trans Am. #s matching motor, trans, rear and very desirable factory colors. It underwent a meticulous, concourse rotisserie restoration only 346 miles ago. Very recently it went through a month long detailing in preparation for critical judging at the MCACN event. It scored a concourse award, judges sheets are available. I am personally extremely impressed with this car. Everything about it is detailed and dialed in. It functions as good as it looks. EXTERIOR: Fabulous! Is this... not the sexiest car or what? The stance, color, scoops, spoilers, side exhaust etc are really hot. The quality is awesome. Really, the fit and finish is better then factory. All the glass is crystal clear. Windows fit perfect. Even with them rolled up the doors shut like a new car. The body is pristine- arrow straight, excellent gaps. It has an original hood, not a reproduction and it fits flush. Original date coded front fenders which are unique to a T/A. The paint is polished like glass. The jambs are spotless too. No ugly vinyl top. Every piece of trim is NOS or restored to new condition. Correct rear antenna, chin spoilers, trunk spoiler, window louvers and decals. The 15 inch rally wheels are pristine and have staggered size Polyglass reproduction tires. F-60s and G-60s, bigger in back which gives clearance for the side exit exhaust. INTERIOR: Climb inside and you will feel like you went back to 1970 and sat in a brand new one. I first noticed it is absolutely spotless. Sit on the seat and you will feel firm cushions, upholstery fits tight as a drum. From carpet to headliner it looks new including instrument area, console, plastic trim. Dash pad looks to be original and is in excellent shape. The deluxe steering wheel is restored with a real wood rim. Has Am-Fm radio with optional rear speaker control. Rally gauges include 120 mph speedo and tachometer. Clock works, upgraded to quartz movement. Everything works from the radio, heater controls, gauges to the interior lights and even the key buzzer. In the glovebox you will find the pouch with owner's manual and literature. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Restored like new and just recently meticulously detailed. At the center of the glossy blue engine bay sits the vin # matched, high performance 340 6-PAK motor. The carbs were just dialed in. Put your foot into the pedal and you will hear the carbs roar and the tires light up. Every component is restored. The belt is even correct. It has quick ratio steering and brakes. The original fender tag is in the office for safe keeping, a reproduction is on the car for display. Vin is stamped on the cowl. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The clean metal has a glossy B5 blue finish. Has correct space saver spare with ink stamps on tread, air bottle and jack. Everything is detailed. New weatherstrip and mat. UNDERSIDE: Wow, no disappointments here. It is detailed and restored like a model car. The floors are a beautiful glossy B5 blue. The suspension and chassis components were powder coated in the appropriate finishes complete with assembly line markings. Bottom of motor is spotless, new starter. The 727 Torqueflite trans is vin # matched and rebuilt. The rear end is the original with rebuilt 3.55 sure grip. Has correct exhaust system with black mufflers and chrome side exit tips. Fuel tank and lines are new. Brake system is entirely new with disc upfront. Has complete e-brake assembly. Just look for yourself at the pictures. Impressive, isn't it? What is a T/A? It was Dodge's entry into the SCCA Trans America racing series. It competed against the likes of Z-28s, Boss 302s and AAR Cudas. The cubic inches were limited to 305 so Dodge designed a stronger block that could be pushed to the limits. In order to qualify, a production version has to be available to the public. Dodge's built far less then the Zs and Bosses. Only 1,411 4-speeds and even fewer automatics- 989 were made total. The production version used the same special block (Trans Am was cast right onto the side of it) but the cubic inches were raised to 340. It also features an Edelbrock intake with Holley SIX PAK carbs. Fresh air was fed through a light weight fiberglass hood which was finished in satin black to eliminate glare. The suspension and steering were upgraded. One of the coolest features is the side exit exhaust. The factory actually used staggered size tires to raise the back for exhaust clearance. It gave the car an aggressive looking stance, I don't know of any other car with that feature. So not only is the T/A a genuine high performance car with race heritage but it looks the part too. This is obviously a highly desirable car. This one is about as good as they get. First time offered to the public in 20 years! Don't miss this opportunity!
