1977 Dodge Aspen Special Edition Additional Info:
I purchased this 1977 Dodge Aspen SE Sedan from a donation auction near Detroit back in 2017 because a film production in the area was looking for as many '73-93 vehicles as it could find... This '77 currently looks like the beater cars people in my area had when I was a little kid in the early '90s, so it would have been perfect!
Turns out they shot 90% of the movie in Ohio and they never needed this car. My mechanic got it running with an oil change, some new fuel lines, and a fuel filter, and it's ready for a new home. I think this was an elderly person's car that sat for quite a while before I got it. Five digit odometer shows ~40,000 miles, so assume it's rolled over. Totally possible it hasn't.
Runs great, shifts through all gears properly, goes down the road straight, and is relatively quiet. Power steering is exactly as described in the Regular Car Review on YouTube (effortless). Idles high (may be set for winter operation, but I have no idea how to turn the idle down, so I'll let you do that).
The underbody is pretty solid and most of the rust, except on the fenders, is surface-only. I drove it for approximately 15 miles, but the brakes are on the floor and the gas tank leaks. You'll have to pick this up with a trailer. If I didn't have so many other projects, I'd fix it!
The interior is a beautiful frost green color, and is in excellent condition. The previous owner replaced the radio with a newer Chrysler AM/FM Cassette unit. AC is intact but doesn't work.
This has the optional "Super Six" package with a 2bbl carburetor instead of the normal 1bbl on every other Slant-Six.
It's 42 years old, so there's bound to be something I've missed. Sold strictly as-is.
Clear title in my name, the vehicle is located near Madison Heights, MI 48071. $200 deposit due immediately upon auction close, must be picked up within 10 days of auction close or deposit will be forfeit (it's occupying a parking spot I really need for other things). Please ask questions before bidding.
Thank you!
