1954 Dodge Power Wagon C1-PW6 126 Additional Info:

1954 Dodge Power Wagon

Model: C1-PW6 126

Serial #: 83939218

Engine #: T137-13275

General:

Clear MA title in my name. Essentially a barn find. Purchased from an older gentleman who had used it on a farm then had parked it unused for many years. The truck is close to complete. My intention was to get it road worthy and putter around town. Enjoyed tinkering with it. Due to family obligations I don’t foresee having the time to put into it for quite awhile so have decided to sell.

Body:

Miscellaneous dings and minor dents all around. Will need rust repair in driver's floor, bottom of doors, misc spots such as lower front fender, lower rear fender, etc. None of it is beyond repair. New and used parts are available from several sources. Bed is a first series but matches color exactly, will need new wood, etc. Tailgate will need hinges. The frame looks real good overall, still has some of the original black on it, no frame rot or scaly rust. The rest of the truck had miscellaneous surface rust spots that were wire brushed and touched up with rust converting primer and a close match spray paint. It is far from show quality but it’s presentable and retains the patina. This is the look I like and how I was going to leave it.

Motor:

230 T-137 flathead motor was stuck when I got it. Removed head, soaked cylinders and valve guides with Mystery Oil. Was then able to get motor spinning freely. Motor was very clean internally. Cleaned surfaces and reassembled with new head gasket. Had carb professionally rebuilt, installed new points, condenser, plugs, cap, rotor, plug wires, oil and filter, etc. Motor starts right up and idles smooth. Oil pressure gauge works and is showing roughly 40lbs of pressure. Engine has not been tested beyond a quick test drive. Video of motor running...

Cooling System:

Radiator holds coolant and haven’t see any leaks in the short time I’ve had it running

Electrical:

It’s the original 6 volt system (temporarily running on a 12 volt battery). All of the electrical will need to be gone through or replaced if truck were to be used on the road.

Transmission:

Original 4 speed, has not been tested at high speeds, just around my neighborhood. It shifts into each forward gear and reverse.

Clutch:

Engages and disengages and moves truck. Unknown condition otherwise.

Transfer Case:

Appears to be the original. Shifts into and out of 4X4, otherwise unknown condition.

Brakes:

They don’t work and will need to be completely gone through. Parking brake grabs ok and I used it to stop truck on the test drive.

Winch:

Braden MU2. The PTO is present and the driveshaft to the winch engages and spins. I have not tested the winch but have no reason to believe it won’t function.

Misc:

Odometer shows just over 3300 miles but unsure if it functions properly. Gas tank has a large dent in it. Tires are poor. Glass is all there but driver’s side windshield is cracked. Windshield frame is in decent shape. Misc. small parts missing including gas cap, keys(ignition currently via toggle switch), wiper arm, original style air cleaner(temporary on now) and other misc. small items. It’s the deluxe cab with original Mopar 65 heater, arm rest, sun visors(missing), headliner(needs replacement), etc.

Summary:

These trucks are getting harder and harder to find and are very desirable at the moment. This truck will need to be completely gone through to make it a daily driver but it’s definitely doable. Parts are available from numerous sources. If you want a show truck it would take a lot of effort. If you’re looking for something to put some sweat equity into and turn heads when picking up lumber etc. this may be the one for you. Please email with any questions BEFORE bidding. If you need further pictures, just ask, many more are available. Also have videos of the engine running and the truck driving. If you are local and want to see the truck, email me and I’ll try to set something up but I’m out straight busy. You are entering a legally binding contract and you’ll be expected to complete this contract if you win the auction. Non-refundable, $1000.00 PayPal deposit (friends and family, no fee) is required within 24 hours of winning the auction. The remaining balance can be a certified bank check, wire or cash in person within 3 days of auction end. Any and all shipping is to be arranged and paid for by the buyer. Truck needs to be picked up within 14 days of auction end. Neither truck nor title will be released until funds clear. I reserve the right to sell prior to bidding end as it is advertised locally also.

NOTE: ebay messaging does not seem to be working correctly. Have had multiple requests for info which I then send but then get the same request again. Check your spam folders if you've asked a question and expected a reply. Thanks!
