This is a motor numbers matching 1974 Challenger withRally Package & Factory A/C. It has the 360 4bbl and Hurst pistol grip 4-speed transmission. An increasingly rare combination. The transmission is not numbers matching.
Always stored under cover, the vinyl is in excellent condition and the paint is pretty good. There are a couple of chips that can be seen in the additional pictures link below. The paint is starting the bubble in the regular spots, by the wheel wells. No bondo that I am aware of. No rust holes. Interior is great, there's a little wear on the drivers seat but that's it. Headliner is good.
The engine has had one rebuild on it that I am aware of. The previous owner installed a rear window defrost that I removed but I have the pieces for it. I also have the original orange air cleaner. The only piece that I know is not correct is the rear bumper, which came from a 1972 (doesn't have the 5 mph rubber bumpers on it), and the Edelbrock carbs. I wired it sort of temporarily for an amplifier in the trunk and installed a new head-unit and speakers. The amp wiring would be very easy to remove if you wanted. For the front speakerI routed the speaker wire over the dash because running it behind the dash meant drilling a hole and I have never drilled a hole or made any modification to this car. Kept as original as possible, always.
Passenger door handle is sticky but the mechanism works. Switch for the e-brake is malfunctioning so the e-brake light stays on. It's been not wanting to idle this season when I pulled it out, carb adjustment/rebuild will take care of it I'm sure. The car has a new electronic ignition module.
Clean title in hand. I am happy to work with any buyers to get it transported. I haven't seen another numbers matching 360/4-speed for salein a long time and I look pretty often. Never seen another one with this color combo. NADA Guides values at about $32K in average condition. That is a value that has increased about $4,000 just over the time I've owned it.
EDIT 7/26: I have had a full pre-sale inspection done on the car which has revealed a couple of issues:
leaking valve cover gasket
leaking timing chain gasket
exhaust leak due to wearing on suspension components, rubbing on idler arm.
needs A-frame upper bushings and ball joints.
I will fully disclose all of the issues to a buyer. If you look at the additional photos link you can see the inspection report, nothing to hide here. She is a rare original specimen but needs some love. I have lowered the price accordingly. For a gear-head that wants to work and love on a car, the issues aren't too bad. I was given an estimate of about $2,500 for all the repairs. I priced out parts to around $400 if you wanted to DIY.

$500 deposit due via Paypal within 48 hours. The rest will be due within 7 days. I will work with the buyer to make transportation as easy as possible. Vashon Island, where the car is, is an island that takes a ferry to get to. I am not willing to drive the car far off the island but I would be willing to bring it to the Seattle or Tacoma ferry, or within a few miles to meet a driver for transport.
