• Dodge’s Coronet Super Bee was created to take advantage of the budget supercar era launched by the 1968 Plymouth Belvedere-based Road Runner; it gave Dodge’s so-called Scat Pack an important vehicle price-wise between the A-body Dart GTS and premium Coronet R/T and top-of-the-line Charger R/T. However, with that stated, Super Bees like the 1969 model offered here were far from budget machines, stickering out closer to R/T territory. Parked during one of the 1970s-era gas crunches and showing 21,887 believed-original miles, this J-code stinger was a car Don Fezell passionately pursued and for good reason. For one, it is equipped with a matching-numbers 426 Hemi engine complete with the Ramcharger twin-scoop fresh-air package. The car also got the Trak Pak option consisting of an A833 4-speed and 3.54:1 Dana 60 differential, plus Hemi equipment like extra-duty suspension parts, power steering and power front disc brakes. But most telling was the stunning level of optioning on this classic muscle car.
