1949 Dodge Pilot-House B-series Additional Info:
This auction is for a beautifully restored 1949 Dodge Pilot-House B-Series 3/4 ton pickup. it has 82,554 original miles. This truck has a new two tone light / dark gray paint job with black side-steps and trim. The chrome hubcaps, hood ornament, lettering, and trim are all original. the glass and window trim all around is brand new including the wrap around rear windows. That was one of the big selling points of this truck and where its name ( Pilot-House ) comes from for its easy 360 degree visibility. There is a small crack in the left wind wing. The tires are 30 x 9.50 R15's and are used but still have lots of good tread left. The interior is all new including custom carpet and headliner. The seat is the original "Air-O-Ride" bench seat which was another innovation in these B-Series Dodge trucks although it has been completely reupholstered in a nice black vinyl. We had a custom 20 gallon stainless steel fuel cell built by Roper Design & Fabrication for this vehicle. The running boards, under-hood panels, and frame have been Rhino Lined. The motor has been gone through and serviced. the battery, suspension, radiator, brakes, and wiring are all brand new. It has a nice new stained wood bed. From the inside the bed measures 7 1/2' long X 4 1/2' wide from the inside. It does need a glovebox / glovebox door, wiper arms and blades, and right now the drivers-side door only opens from the inside. ( should be an easy fix ). It is being sold as is with no warranty. As it is it is a great truck that runs great and will turn heads as it is or as a base for a complete off frame restoration. Iv'e done some research online and based on the Vin. # the truck was built in Los Angeles, California in 1949. 299,900 were built overall. it has 116" wheelbase. The 228 CI, 6 Cylinder, L-Head Motor ( Flat-Head ) with 95 horsepower @ 3,600 RPM's and 175 Ft-Lb of torque @ 1,600 RPM's. It has a 3-Speed manual trans. Really a great truck overall. Vehicle is for sale in Montrose, Ca. but we would be happy to do anything we can at our end to help transport anywhere in the world at your expense. if you have any questions or would like to see it in person or arrange a test drive just email our info and someone will be in touch. Vehicle has a clear title and current tags with California plates. Don't let this gem get away. thank You.
