This is 1 of 1830 1970 Dodge Challenger A66 package cars. The A66 was a performance package that included the hi-winding 340 with perf. Suspension and rally (RT) hood. Bigger torsion bars, front sway bar and beefy rear leaf springs. It was the sister to the 340 ‘Cuda. The 340 Challenger RT was only offered for 1 year in 1971. It could be had in 1970 as a performance package (A66) but it was not classified as an RT.It isthe highly sought after color of Go Mango (EK2) with burnt orange interior and black vinyl top. It still has its original fender tag, dash vin plate and 8-3/4 rear end and its an orig 4 speed car. The ’71 340 in the car now has been bored .030 and is ready for final hone and assembly. I greased down the cylinders to prevent flash rusting. I didn’t have motor mounts so its just sitting on wood blocks for easy transport. The crank has been turned and polished as well. I dont have pistons or rods for it. The heads are U code 340 heads that have been cleaned and are ready for building. I have the rockers and shafts as well. The intake is an Edelbrock piece and the water pump is new. It has the timing chain cover and correct 340 oil pan. The motor is backed up by the orig bell housing and a correct A833 4 speed with the correct rear shifter mounting boss that e bodies require. The trans has been rebuilt and is ready for oil. It has power steering and manual drum brakes. This is a 98% complete project car that does not run and is not driveable. I think the only thing missing is the air cleaner, exhaust manifolds, carb, radiator and front bumper but I'm sure there are a few other odds and ends missing. The body is 98% rust free. I stripped it and sealed it in a tinted primer to protect it from the elements as I had it stored outside while waiting to restore it and have since bought several other cars I would rather do so this one is for sale now. The floors, trunk and all 4 frame rails are super nice. Both fenders have been media blasted inside and out and there is no bondo whatsoever in them anywhere. The pass side has a few pin holes but that’s it. They were both primed in 2 coats of epoxy primer then sealed with the tinted sealer. The fenders and doors are a really good clean set and are very straight. The pass door has a small crease down low but that’s it. The shaker hood and front and rear valances are new AMD pieces. The deck lid is orig and has the factory cut outs for the rear spoiler. The car was a black vinyl roof stripe delete car. Both front and rear windshield channels are rust free. All the glass is good but no windshield. The rear bumper is straight and the tailight housings and bezels are nice. I have all 4 door panels and and 1 kick panel and they have been cleaned and dyed burnt orange. This car came optioned with deluxe seat belts (C15) and I think I have the complete set. Please everyone remember this car will need a complete restoration and is worthy of it.
