1969 Dodge Charger Additional Info:
You are buying a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T Clone.I am selling the car as a pretty much completed body needing just some small things finished and a drivetrain, fuel and brake systems installed. I purposely did not go ahead and finish the car out as a driver with a 440 magnum because there are some many different options as far as new modern drivetrains I figured the buyer may want to go that direction or they would have their own crate engine.
This a rock solid, never rusty, California car (318 console automatic) that a restoration was started on about 8 years ago. The car was disassembled, stripped to bare metal, a very nice base/clear paint job was done, new front suspension installed, new Legendary seat covers, door panels, carpet, headliner and dash pad were also done. For some reason the project stopped and the car sat until we got it recently. The car was pretty much disassembled (with several items missing) when we got it so everything was removed down to a rolling body and the car was reassembled using correct original parts and hardware. The front clip and k frame/suspension was removed and the insides of the fenders, underside of the hood and everything from the firewall forward was painted. This car is SUPER STRAIGHT and the overall lines and body gaps are excellent. The car has original sheetmetal and the only repairs I see is a lower quarter patch on the passenger side and the tail panel has been replaced. The fenders and doors are the perfectly solid never any rust originals to this car. The frame rails, rockers, floors and all basic structure is PERFECTLY SOLID as you would expect from a California car and I do not see any evidence of the car ever having been in an accident.
We spent quite a bit of time final wet sanding, buffing and polishing the paint job but the results are excellent and the paint is super glossy and very slick. There are a few small scratches from sitting but nothing bad and one ding in the passenger quarter. There are also a few small chipped places here and there. The hood has a couple dents from being stored off the car but shines great and is straight. The paint is very nice but not 100% flawless. It is fine for a very nice driver or local showcar.
All the correct hood latch pieces have been cleaned, blasted and refinished.
Both door mirrors are NEW Reproductions.
The wheels and tires are just rollers but hold air fine.
We completely disassembled both quarter windows and all tracks, regulators and guides were cleaned, blasted and refinished. All new window rollers were used and everything was reassembled, lubed, adjusted and verified to work perfectly.
All new window side weatherstrip (cat whiskers) were installed. The wiper linkage was all cleaned, blasted, painted and new seals and gaskets installed.
Both door window assemblies were cleaned, lubed and adjusted as needed and roll up and down fine.
The door hinges were rebuilt and the doors open and close great.
The trunk and roofrail weatherstrips are both new but the door seals are very nice originals that were cleaned up and new clips installed.
The tail lights, bumpers, parking lights are all very nice originals. The grille is original and is nice with only a couple small cracks at the very center and a small portion of the lower lip missing. The grille is complete with all vacuum pods, linkages, wiring, etc. The grille trim is all original and nice except for the center piece is bent a little.
The tail light and dash wiring harnesses are super nice originals that have no damage and no repairs ever. I do not have the harnesses that go int he engine compartment but do have the headlight vacuum harness.
We reassembled the interior and it is what I would call very nice driver quality. The rear door pads are very nice originals but the fronts I left off as they are cracked and will need recovered or replaced. I have ALL THE ORIGINAL SEAT BELTS and you could have them rebuilt with new webbing or just clean and dye them if wanted.
The lower dash pads are in driver quality condition and have shrunk up and come loose in places. The original radio is in place.
The dash cluster bezel is from a 70 and I do not have the 69. I do have the correct flasher switch but you will need to get a correct headlight switch as the one in the car is for a 70 (no vacuum switch). I did not hook up the dash harness the the cluster as I figured it would be removed and a new switch and 69 bezel installed.
The car was converted to a Vintage Air A/C and Heater. The only pieces I have are the box under the dash which is just loosely installed. The plastic defrost vents will need replaced but I think come with the parts from Vintage Air you will need.
The dash pad is a new reproduction but has a small crack from something falling into it.
All the front suspension and steering linkage is new (except for pitman arm, which is still tight) and has a Hodgkis front sway bar. There are new Mopar XHD Hemi leaf springs. The front brakes have been converted to a mid 70's A Body setup.
The steering wheel is a correct wood grain version (it is cracked) but I do not have any of the horn pad.
I HAVE THE FENDER TAG and it matches the VIN and core support stamping.
A NEW WINDSHIELD AND GASKET ARE BEING INSTALLED NEXT WEEK and I will then reinstall the outer and inner trim.
The car has a CLEAR ARKANSAS TITLE AND IS CURRENTLY TAGGED.
You could be driving this car within a few weeks (unlike buying a project and then spending the next 2 years doing tons of metal work, paint and everything else).
A 500.00 deposit is due at the time of purchase and the balance due within 7 days but the car can sit here a short while if you need to arrange transport.
