1991 Dodge Ram 2500 Base Additional Info:
This has been the best vehicle I have owned to date.
It is a Regular cab pickup with a manual transmisson and a 12 valve cummins ve pump engine. It has a g360 getrag manual transmission with a np205 transfer case. These are strong solid parts. It has a dana 60 kingpin front axle and a dana 70 rear axle. I bought the truck in Colorado and then lived in Arizona most of the time I owned it. The truck spent some time in Alabama as well. This means the truck is almost completely rust free.
It has:
New steering with an Offraod designs tie rod, heavy duty tie rods, and a fresh ported steering box for hydraulic assist. It also has a diy4x diff cover in front, fresh gear oil, rebuilt kingpins, crossover steering and springless arms.
New suspension bushings, rear 4 inch skyjacker springs and 2.5 front skyjacker springs
Low pressure piston lift pump, 12cm turbine housing, and a Denny t fuel pin
Egt, boost and tach gauge plus a cable drive speedometer.
Bluetooth dual head unit with a set of decent speakers and an old amp.
Bedlined floor in the cab with a couple imperfections and a vinyl seat cover. The seat cover has one tear on the driverside but otherwise is in good shapeNew driveshaft jointsbrakes replaced 10,000 miles agoNew transmission mountsNew mopar voltage regulatornew batteryrecent alternator replaced285/75/16 tires with some life remaining
Cosmetically the front bumper and grill are not stock, the core support is bent and the headlight mounts are ugly. The headlights are solid and don't vibrate but it is not pretty when the grill is off. The truck has a straight front bumper and a grill from a 1985 d100. The parts are clean and I added them years ago.The paint is not in the best shape as can be seen from the pictures. There is also a full length cap/topper on the bed and a basic interior in the bed. It is old so it is faded and not perfect as well. However the truck has minimal to no rust. There is minor surface rust but beyond that it is rust free.
The suspension and steering have the most changes from stock. The truck rides well and drives well. It does not have any death wobble or steering slop. The ride is not anywhere as stiff as a stock w250. Also the truck runs cool, has functional ac and never overheats. I had it going up Death Valley at 75 with the ac blasting, the egts were around 900 degrees and it didn't overheat. The egts rarely top 1050 even though it is turned up a bit. It will smoke if given a lot of throttle before the turbo spools but runs clean if driven reasonably. It makes about 25-26 psi of boost and it has a lot of punch with the smaller exhaust housing. It starts in less than two revolutions in warm weather and in cold weather it starts with a little throttle to warm up. The grid heater functions like it should on the computer. The computer only controls the grid heater. The exhaust has a flow master muffler but the injectors are louder than the exhaust.
It is in a covered carport in Huntsville, Alabama. There is a local airport in town.
I spent more than 4K this year on it but it also has in the neighborhood of 300-330k miles and has had three odometers and two of the odometers were broken for a period of time so the mileage is approximate. I have every confidence it would drive any distance with minor maintenance. The title is sitting in Alabama with it and is clean.
