1969 Dodge Charger Additional Info:
1969 Dodge Charger. Many new body panels were replaced on this car all ordered from Classic Industries. I've had the car a few years and the plan was to totally restore it. I purchased it from the previous owner who had it from the mid 80's. I have the car on 6'' caster wheels so that I can move it around in my garage. The original 318 engine and drivetrain were discarded long ago as the plan was to replace with a 440 ci motor and 5spd. The car has new hood, both new front fenders, lower front valance. The floor of the car was in great condition except for driver/passenger footwell areas that were replaced with new panels. Most of the rust issues were at the back of the car. Both full rear quarters were replaced along with a new deck filler panel, outer wheel houses, full trunk floor, drop offs, rear tail panel, new trunk lid, lower valance etc.Unfortunately when the rear panels were replaced, the rear of the car did not come together level and square. It's about 3/4 '' lower on the driver side (where the quarter meets the tail)from pass side when looking at the car from the rear. It's definitely noticable when viewing the car from the back. Most likely the result of a bent frame rail even though there was no obvious previous damage when the old panels were removed. I've had two shops look at the car and both agreed that in order to fix the issue, the rear tail panel and valance would have to come off, frame straightened, and then welded back together. I have additional parts that go with this car I've decided to sell this car because I no longer have the time and resources to finish it to the level that I had originally planned. This was not an easy decision for me to make as it took a lot of time and effort to get it this far. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thanks - Grant
